Im a mid TH8 in a clan who constantly participates in clan wars. All 3 of my air defenses are level 5. Would it be a good idea if I upgrade them to level 6? I figured once I reach TH9 loot would be very hard and there are far more important things to upgrade/build there. Also, I never get raided via air and my level 5 air defs can pretty much hold up against a mass drag army during CWs...
AD was one of my last upgrades at TH8. If your base survives air attacks then maybe you don't need them, but I would still upgrade them before you move on to TH9 imo.
yes!! max out your def before upgrading is a must!! once you got to a certain league..... you will be swarmed with baloonion and mass drags... so yeah.. it is worth it...
There's no TH8 base with 3x AD lvl 5 that can hold against mass drag lvl 3 with rage. Maybe if you got AT, WT and Teslas on max, but that happens seldom. So I'd recommend you to upgrade AD to lvl 6 if you're warring a lot.
EDIT: Can't hold against a skilled attacker.
Max your ad. It will help against drag/loon attacks and pesky giant/healer raids
That is false, my mid TH8 with three lvl 5 AD can hold mass lvl 3 dragon attacks to typically 1/2 stars in CW. The deciding factors are the base layout, attacker skill and the attacker hero levels. The only time I got 3 starred in CW was by a TH10 with Lvl 3 mass dragons and BK/AQ at 10+Quote:

High lvl AD's will allow you to point your xbows down when you are a TH9. You may not realize it yet, but this is really huge in terms of protecting resources from barchers and archer queens. Plus now that I have 4 lvl 7s, the replays are really fun to watch when I get the occasional mass dragon attack during wars :)
