[Guide] All Around Multipurpose Farming Strategy for TH7 & TH8
Hello all,
I've been playing this marvelous game for a little over a year now and after much trial and error I have come up with a great all around farming strategy for TH7 & TH8 to be used throughout the Gold trophy range. I don't know ho Also, keep in mind that this strategy is what I personally use, but you may simply use it as a guideline. Feel free to tweak anything you feel would better accompany your play style. Let's get into it, shall we?
The Army Composition:
At the very core of the army comp we have 16 giants and 8 wall breakers. This may seem costly/time consuming for a farming strat, but bare with me for a moment. If you are TH7/8 this leaves you with 104 troops remaining. Split the remaining troops up between barbarians and archers how you wish, but I chose 76 archers and 30 barbs.
The Set Up:
First, you will need to train the initial batch of troops. It's important that you train the troops in this specific order for the rest of the strategy. Open up your first barracks and load the troops in the following order (assuming you use the same about of barbs and archers as me) : 18 archer, 8 barbs, 4 giants, 2 wall breakers. Repeat the same thing in the second barrack. For the last two barracks, you will need to train 19 archers and 7 barbs, in addition to the 4 giants and 2 wall breakers. If you've done this right, all of your troops will finish training in 22 minutes and 15 seconds. A typical barch army comp is 80 barbs and 120 archers. This comp would take you 19 minutes to train, so as you can see, the giants and wall breakers don't actually add much extra training time. Once all of your troops are finished and you are completely ready to raid, fill up all your barracks again in the same manner so that you troops will train while you are searching for a good base.
Spells:
TH7/8: 2 heal 1 rage or 3 lightning
Note: These are not meant to be used every raid. I will discuss specifics below
The Strategy:
The two main types of bases you will raid in clash of clans are "pump raids" and "storage raids". Pump raids are typically abandoned bases where essentially all of the loot is located in the pumps. These are the types of raids you want to find as often as possible. Every time you come across a pump raid, expend only the barch portion of your army comp (Ultimately, this is up to your discretion. Some bases have a lot of their pumps tucked away behind walls and you may want to sacrifice a few giants and wall breakers) and don't use any spells! 104 troops should be enough to destroy all of the pumps and you will walk away with an amazing profit (you will likely lose the raid but that's okay. It'll all balance out in the end typically). Once you return to your village, go ahead and cancel all of the giants and wall breakers you cooked, because you still have the ones left over from your last army. This should restore a nice amount of elixir back into your storages. What you have now done is cut the training time of your army in half. Since your troops have been training while you were raiding, you should only have a couple minutes left before your army is done again. If you were searching long enough, the troops might even be done completely by the time you get back. Now just repeat the steps as you did before: fill all your barracks (with archers and barbs qued up first) before you raid again.
If you come across a base that has a lot of loot in the storages, only then do you use your giants and wall breakers. If you commit to an all out raid, make sure to drain every single troop in your comp because you have the exact amount you need already cooking in your barracks. Try at all costs to avoid using spells, but if you see that you stand to make a much larger profit from dropping a heal, go ahead and do it. Just know it saves you a lot of elixir quickly if you can learn to be frugal with your spells.
Final Thoughts:
I find that this strategies utilizes the best of both worlds. Few things are more aggravating than using only barch, and then coming across a base with full, yet well protected, storages. A lot of times barch just can't penetrate enough to destroy all the storages unless you are using solid heroes. Let's not forget that the main goal of this game is to have fun, and for me personally, being teased by major loot that I can't access isn't much fun at all. With this strategy you now give yourself the option to attack nearly any type of base within your capabilities. Like I've said before, this is what I've found worked best for me in both efficiency and enjoyability. If you're someone that absolutely loves barch, then more power to ya. I just thought I'd share this with the Clash Community and hopefully someone out there benefits from it.
If you have any questions regarding the strategy, or anything else for that matter, please feel free to reply to this thread and I will be sure to get back to you shortly. Thanks for givin this a read and I hope it helps!
