Had a golem in my CC and in a major attack on my base it kept the archer queen distracted long enough for the defenses to finish off the rest of the army and prevented much resource loss...
But jn an earlier defense it just followed a bunch of barbs to one side away from the center and ended up dying. Really hit or miss
If your cc is unlureable, golems can be a real pain. Lava hounds are worse however, very good on defense.
I use Lava Hounds on def and they are really effective in slowing down the attack and allowing my defenses to blast their troops back to hell.Quote:

What the golem offers is a lot of health, and is slow to get out of the CC. Your depending on it to stall the attack. There are better choices for CC defense. The lava hound is a better choice for this, does the same thing as the golem and it can attack both air and ground troops. A mixture of troops make it hard to pull all the CC troops and can take multiple attempts to get them out. Wizards are considered by many to be the best CC troop. Big AOE damage, and can hit both air and ground. A friend of mine has a video of a dragon attack he did in clan war where the CC wizards took out ALL 10 of his dragons at the very start of the of the raid.
