Lightning damage on buildings

I always thought the lightning did full damage on the target and then some splash around it was hit or miss, but I just attacked and used 3 lvl 3 lightning (360 dmg each 1080total dmg) on a lvl 5 air defense (990hp) and it didnt kill it. I watched the replay twice and they were dropped dead center of the air defense and I have never had a problem prior to today with destroying air defense with lightning. What could have happened? I had another clan mate say the same thing happened to him in this war which I assumed was because his spells were dropped slightly off center, but now I am not so sure. Has anyone else had this problem or know the cause?

You probably didn't drop them dead center. I've had the same thing happen on lvl 5 de collectors. 2 lightning spells should take 1 lvl5 de collector out. I dropped 2 spells on each collector (4 spells on 2 collectors). One of the collectors was completely destroyed, the other one had a marginal amt of health left... On replay, it was dropped like a mm off center.

I watched the replay once again and its right in the center of the square not even near any of the the sides. Is there an easy way to post a screenshot or a replay of the attack so others can see?
