I don't really attack a lot I just deffend and when I need loot I go and attack but I still want to keep trophies level and yet gain loot. Help Guys I'm not a very good raider so commenting strategys and troop combos would help. BTW I only have up to hogs in dark barracks and pekkas in regular barracks and I have a lvl8 th
....that's a bit slim, not enough information from your side to work with.
Have you maxxed your troops yet? When raiding, do you do just one or a string of raids? What trophy range are you at? What TH lvl's do you raid ?
Here goes anyway:
At TH8 Giant-Healer or Giant-Healer-Wizzard will do quite well. Also Dragons with loons can get you along and there's always Barch or Bam.
Barch and Bam
...are a quick-raid strategy, get in, spam troops, get 50% and as much loot as possible along the way. There are enough threads explaining these strategies. With usually no spells necessary it's a cheap and fast building army and good if you want to stay on and do a couple of raids back to back. With rage spells you can get in to deeper layers and attack storages, but take good care of splash damage defences! How to fail: don't spread out troops but cluster them in few spots, dont test for bombs with single troops.
Giant-Healer, Giant-Wizzard-Healer
...is more the slow rolling, squashing all in it's way kind of strategy. What you want here is to keep your troops alive. Giants will be the meat shield for wizzards that go behind. With Giants prefering defences as targets, they'll go ahead while wizzards clean up behind, then catch up and help destroy the defences, and then all attack the next layer. You'll want some wallbreakers to help and enough heal spells and healers, maybe a balloon or two to clear out air mines up front of your healers. How to fail: Loose all your Giants to CC-troops, loose all your wallbreakers in mortar hits, loose all your healers to seeking airmines, have your wizzards go around the outside while your giants walk to the centre, have your healers healing the wrong troop cluster....all can be countered by diligent deployment. Build time is longer but still you can get in a couple of raids in a session.
Dragons n Loons
.... looong build time, build over night or in between sessions and have ready for your first attack, then switch to one of the above. Drags will be the meatshield for the loons that go in behind. Wait for drags to trigger the CC before deploying the loons and then try to aim these at the airdefences. Loons will not survive but will help the drags to live long enough for two or three stars. Use a rage and a heal for the loons, ideally also helping as many drags as possible at the same time. How to fail: drop drags all in one spot, deploy far away from AD, drop spells too late.
What ever you go for, just watch the replays, learn what buildings attract what troops. And for more detailed information search this forum for help with particular strategies.
