What exactly is a "moat" base?

Ok! Well basically, these bases make it extremely difficult to achieve a two or three star. They are anti-hog (the hogs don't go to the center). It is works very well if you don't want more than one star against you.
Those bases don't scare me. You just need to bring some more WB. Plan where the AI will take your WB. For instance, from the bottom left attacking from the air mine on this example:
1st WBs will hit middle of outer compartment wall.
2nd WBs will probably hit the upper/leftish corner of that compartment by the E storage and tesla
3rd WBs will probably hit the corner by the DE storage
After that, your WBs will go straight to the "moat" clearing a way to the core.
