Yeah this may be a problem for others. I think what Supercell should so is they lower the amount of trophies lost for the percentage you have destroyed a village. If you're over 50% then it shouldn't be much of a problem.

EDIT: Think of it this way. The more you destroy a village the more trophies you get correct? So lets say if you get 100% you get 21 trophies but if you get 50% you get about 9 trophies. That's how it is for me. So why not you lose less trophies if you destroy 49% on a base?
