Best way to farm de at th8? I need a ton for my bk
I barched my king to lvl 10 in gold 3. As long as they had at least 500 DE available that I thought I could get to (the ability to tell that comes with experience, I have definitely had a few fails) I would hit them. A lot of people would say only attack if they have 800 or more DE available but I found success with this formula as barching is quick and cheap!
If they had less than 500 DE but more than 300 available and it was easy (like behind one or two walls) I would usually go ahead and hit them as well. Don't worry about the other resources, and don't always worry about getting the win as it more about attack frequency. Just snipe every lvl 7 or level 8 town hall you come across (I didn't snipe strong TH9's because I didn't want to risk a bad revenge) to keep your trophy level up and you will be fine.
The most important thing is focus only on the DE available. If you get distracted by the other resources it will affect your DE per hour gains. Of course if you come across an inactive full collector base go ahead and take it.
For spells I carried 3 lightnings, I would use 1 lightening if I encountered a full clan castle (unless it had a dragon or giants of course) If I came across a REALLY juicy DE base (1000 or more) I might use 2 lightning spells to take out a particularly annoying mortar.
Also, I always carried 3 minions with me on every attack. I would only use them if I encountered giants in a clan castle, or if I needed those few extra percentage points to get 1 star. They can also be useful against a lure-able Barbarian King. I rarely had to use them though.
If I wasn't upgrading him, I would also boost my Barbarian King. For only 10 gems he will be available for almost every other raid if you are doing un-boosted barching.
Either go to the sub-200 trophy range(Tons of DE)
or
Upgrade to TH9 with many more DE drills

Nice base Madhatter ;) Just search the forums/Online for a DE base. I think the better ones can sacrifice regular storages as hp blockers but if you're trying to save a lot of every resource during your TH upgrade it might be tricky and there isn't much a Th8 can do vs. Lvl6 Giants/Archers in the hands of a good Th9.
I have only used Dark Defendum (had to alter it a little to account for the 4th mortar) and the only times I have lost DE was when I got hit by full TH9 attacks with archer queens over level 10Quote:
