Have you considered why this rule exists?
No. There should be a penalty. Big decisions require thought and planning. Without repercussions it takes value from it. Also, it or events people from "hiding" loot.
I think I would love this because everytime I know I am going to log off for a long time I'll just go to do a 6-8 million upgrade so that when others try to raid me they won't get nearly as much. When I log back on I will be sure to cancel those upgrades with no consequences and just keep repeating the process.Quote:

A full refund could be abused. I can hide gold or elixir in an upgrade and cancel it when I have a savings. Dump into walls then hide more while I farm for walls again.

Have you even read the 800+ pages of complaints for terrible loot in TH9/TH10? Now you want find a way to stash off your loot in an upgrade to be canceled for when you can really spend it?
Ummmm... no!
That's just cheap gameplay, there's no reason to do that..
then th 9 can hide all their resources by queuing the building upgrades!
and once they log on they can cancel it and collect back the 4-6 million gold!
