Should I upgrade to th9???!!

Hi guys I'm mid th8 at the moment but getting bored so am wondering weather to upgrade to th9

We would need more info about your progress to be able to give you a more accurate opinion. But the consensus here will be "no, max TH8 first."

As a preemie TH9 myself, I'd like to recommend for you to max TH8 first. The loot penalty kills my farming and it forces our clan to fight tougher opponents in wars. It's doable, but I regret it.

Yes rushed th's without the leveled troops for war sucks for the clan. And if you're bored now.. just wait until you realize having lvl9 walls is much better than lvl8's.. You'll prolly just quit.

I have to partly disagree. Match making for war is not based on TH level, rather experience levels. A premmie TH9 will likely ranked lower than a maxed TH8. That being said, if you are a premmie TH9 with max troops, but low level of defenses, you will likely be more beneficial for your clan since this attracts weaker opponents.

Pretty much agreed.

Max farming > Max Production > Max War Troops > Upgrade TH

Whatever periphery upgrades you can do to base (walls/defense) are bonus, given X amount of time spent playing the game.

Th8 is pretty much ♥♥♥♥...every skilled th9 with random lvl6 troops will be able to steal you loot no matter what

I disagree with TH8 being hearts. When I was a maxed TH8 base, TH9 barely laid a finger on more than 1 set of storages. I was never 3 starred during the last ~40% of my TH8 experience. And I had full storages and well over 20k DE multiple times.

On the other hand, I interpret your post as saying th9 is better at defending resources and I would have to agree. Since TH9, I have only had TH snipes and many a failed attempt on my base. And that was before my xbows even finished building.

No, max everything at th8 first.

This is correct. Every other answer is wrong. Premature TH upgrade is a liability in clan wars. We don't allow it and have a 21 win streak so far.

I'd have to disagree with that. I am a town hall 9 with maxed troops and maxed town hall 8's are no walk in the park. Sure if the base design is aweful it is an easy 3 but a solid design can stop me from getting to all of the storages. If I attacked a maxed town hall 8 with a great design I would probably have to drop both my double digit heroes and use 2-3 spells to get all of the money.

To answer the question on when to upgrade, I would get at least 50% of the walls to level 8 since I know upgrading just walls is boring. Then I would continue to upgrade walls until there was only 3 days left until your town hall was done I would then fill your storages all the way then by a 2 day shield so that when your town hall is done upgrading you will have full mines and collectors and can immedietly buy both xbows and upgrade a couple camps and the lab. It would also be nice if you had enough de for the queen but that can be kind of hard to do depending on what league you are in. Good luck at town hall 9 :)

Why do th8's have to be a walk in the park. Level 6 farming troops makes a big difference + Queen + Camps...Farming at TH9 is way easier. I just upgraded TH last week, and I'm already feeling better about it..Storages full...Been 100 % a couple times, but am still able to keep full at 1600+..

I know ^.^...I was just saying th 8 doesn't have to be a walk in the park... As long as your farmers bring in the dough, and you want to upgrade then you should. The whole haters thing was directed elsewhere..

Sharonsym proved that very active players using gems to boost barracks, playing long sessions, can succeed in this game by rushing to TH 9. For every other players, this strategy is doomed to fail...and I have seen it so many times. Beside I want to take my time and live the full experience of every TH level.

No, he's proved something else actually, as he was never super active, His mini he even only plays casually. He was still able to rush it to 9 with only pink walls, did you read his thread? Anyway...I don't gem my barracks and at TH9 im doing just fine. I play 2-3 hours weeknights, 4-6 hours weekends.

This is the only reason I would stay, and I completely agree with you, in this case. But TH9 is awesome thus far for me, and having rushed here has been a verrrryyy good experience thus far. All the people who say "Yeah go ahead and rush, I love smashing premies." are full of it...Once I got the queen/camps/lab, everything's good :)...especially queen...She's crazy strong.

I have few clanmates too that rush to TH8 with yellow walls, they are doing more than fine, they catch up and doing skull walls while maxing their defence now in no time.

TH9 is different story... a friend skip TH8 to get xbows and now he's struggling to progress because he just have lv.4 troops. His labs has been idle because he can't get enough elixir to get lv.5 troops. He will not have problem if he heard me to max army camps get lv.5 troops first before jumping to TH9

And yes, I believe TH10 is much more different as you said.

It's because the most attack I got is just TH snipe that takes my 1K.

then enjoy another 143 days to max TH8... ;)

You don't need to gem nor playing long session to rush TH.. i didn't do that with my rushed TH9 and i only have 3 builders. You only need to farm for next upgrade b4 the builder is available and that's all.

Of course, you don't need gem to rush. You need gems to play long sessions (over an hour) to get the expensive upgrades. At TH8, there are some quite expensive upgrades requiring over 2 millions gold/elixir, such as wizard towers/mortars and lab upgrades. Once you reach 2 millions of resources, what do you think if you attack once or twice and then log off? You will immediately get TH sniped if you are lucky, or more likely completely smashed because your base has weak defenses as a rusher.

I do agree that once you get your walls and splash defense maxed out at TH8 or TH9, you can play casually and log off after a couple of attacks, and nobody will attack you, especially at TH9.

i have to desagree with you too. I am an almost maxed th8 (walls, pekka, dark troops and third spell left) and just htree stared a rushed th9 with 2 xbows just by hogging with lvl 2 hogs. I got some extra lvl 5 in my cc, but doesn't matter. In the same war, i got raided by a th9 with lvl4 hogs and he just got one star in me. My base is anti hog and anti dragon, so that helped me (dragons and hogs usually just one star me, i've never been 3 stared by dragons with my layout) and theyer th9 hadn't a good base, but had giant bombs inside the th.

I made some changes to every storage be protected by a AD and have the forth mortar inside. So, DON'T RUSH TH, except if you will leave the game soon anyway, so rush and give us more loot

I would love to see the logs for this/ pics of his base...anyway I rushed, not premied, there is a difference. I haven't been three starred yet. Maybe we'll get lucky and face each other so you can show me :)

give 10 balloon at bottom left use 3 lightning at Upper ad and mass my drags at side of last ad
use rage to help(i am a th 9 so 4 spell and 220 camp)

Yeah yeah like sharonsym said: I am not a hard core player....he raids 40x a day...3 minute per attack and 2 minutes to search a base, say that a minimum 200 minutes of games per day...we are talking 3-4 hours per day of game playing time and that is a very conservative estimate! And that without considering that sharonsym probably unconsciously understate his playing time to proove his point.

Like I said, you can't rush to TH9 successfully without being very active.
