Hi Eternal:
I read your guide. Like it a lot, and my post is directly trying offer an alternative view from your guide. I got my BK to level 5 as a TH7 in Silver 1. My BK is now upgrading to level 9 as a TH8, hanging around Gold 3.
See, your guide talks about level 6 troops and TH9. I prefer taking my time with each TH level, and enjoy it to the fullest. I play casually 1-2 hours a day at most, and i am in no need to rush to TH9.

I agree! However, as a max TH7, you will not likely 3-star a mid-to-max TH8.

I always had loads of DE at th8 from just BARCH with a few WB's mixed in. In fact, I basically use the same strat now at th9 and I've been able to work on my DE troops in the lab non-stop and get my queen to 16 and my king to 13. Now that my base is maxed, I'm just raiding DE and it's pretty simple to get 15-20k a day in G1 without spending loads of time and resources on big armies.

Not sure about that. Going from TH6 to TH7 is the biggest jump imo. The amount of items that are unlocked makes a big difference. As a maxed TH6 there was nothing I could do against a decent, TH7.(No chance against a maxed TH7) That is not the case when you are a TH7 and dealing with TH8s and 9s. The gap is not so big! Which means protect your DE people. Terrorist is loose in three days and counting. No zapping, no barching, just strong arm techniques! ♥♥♥♥!

I am not doubting that barch can get lots of resource efficiently. However, there is no way a barch army can get to a DE storage behind 3 walls. You must next a lot to find easy to raid bases for DE. Hence, the purpose of this post, since I find boring to next a lot. My army is just bit more expensive and takes a bit more time to train, but I can raid successfully many more bases than a barch army.

I've never farmed exclusively for DE, but I run into poorly protected DE with 500-800 I can barch all the time. Sometimes I'll even run into 1000 or more that's not hard to grab. I never find myself wanting. That might change now that I'm trying to get my AQ to a decent level, but it was enough to max my BK and finish most of my DE upgrades at th8.

My big problem with building a huge army to hit the cores that are loaded with 1500+ DE is that I'm likely to run into 20 abandoned bases before an actual active base with anything in it. I don't want to pass up an easy score, and I don't really want to have wasted my time cooking too much army for the job.

I agree that from 6 to 7 is a great jump. 4th camp with 200 army capacity, Dragons, Hogs and BK. 20 capacity CC for another drag or 5 wiztards. All great, but taking the game from Th8 to 9 is much larger of a step. I only know my own experience so I am definitely not trying to speak for all but I stand by my previous statement. :D

I like people who can debate in a respectful manner. Respecting other people points while still getting their point across. All I can do is experience both jumps for myself, then decide which was a greater jump for me. In the meanwhile my friend, may your DE farming be fruitful, no matter what route you may take! (Unless you come across anyone from Elite Terrorism, may you then fail miserably, ♥♥♥♥)
