TH9's can max their walls?
Why did nobody tell me? I thought that it was a bad move that has adversely affected farming and trophy pushing, I had no idea that certain TH9's could manage to upgrade their walls quicker. After all, that is all that matters.

Raiding collectors is by and large the most efficient strat to max your base, so I have not really noticed much difference. Plus not everyone dumps it all into walls, they need it for troop upgrades and stuff, sure they need gold more than elix so are more likely to dump elix over gold, but overall it isnt that bad.Quote:

Elixir for walls update was a giant leap into the dark... which just hasn't worked for the majority. To give lower-level TH's a step up making the elixir cost twice that of gold might have lessened the impact and maybe that should still be considered? There's no shame in rolling back decisions that haven't worked out.
As a TH10 I used to have great results farming/raiding around 2800 and I've been searching for a new sweet spot between 2750 and 3450. The results is in: No bases have elixir anymore, everyone is scraping the bottom of the barrel
Personally, I have not upgraded all my barracks and troops to be stuck attacking with tier 1 armies as that's all that can be sustained.
In Champs I have 2 attacks that I enjoy doing... Gowipe/wiwi and Lavaloonian for air. Even after the win bonus increase (which I'm thankful for and was a definite step in the right direction) it's a long-winded and joyless process finding any bases that can make those break even.
I have no interest in barch or 240 archer attacks. They can work for 1-star collector raids but they aren't fun, and are no more than a distraction.
So on the whole I wouldn't thank them for this update, it's verging on game-breaking and most of my clan feel the same. I'm hanging in there in the hope that they sort it out as I think they know that it was a mistake.

Doing anything else would be inefficient. Using Loons / Giants / Dragons etc didn't feel inefficient before because you never had to stress about elixir - which made raiding more fun and flexible.
I understand long term the need for elixir drops. And such an update puts a premium on it again.
But the price is versatility is dead. Barch / BAM / BAG for life, or fall behind. Is that what you really want SuperCell? For us to ignore the other dozen or so troops in the game to use just those 4 instead?
Honestly unless elixir costs for other troops dropped I'm not using them again.
Almost done getting all my walls to 8 Elix for walls help a ton
