A Big Thank You to SC for the Elixir to wall update.

A lot people do not like this update. I adore it. This update has saved me so many hours of farming over and over again to get my walls done.

I am TH9, who now has his walls maxed (Completed them late Friday Night) still got 3 months plus play to max all buildings and hopefully both heros before going to Th10.

Yes I played a lot 10-12 hours a day. I am grown up and at this stage of my life was happy to play the game for that time.

I got a third done without boosting at all. I then slowly started to boost. I was then using a giant/healer army. I boosted 1 barracks mainly for my 2 healers.

I was happy with what I was making, but I got told compared to barching I was not making a lot. I then tried barching boosting all 4 barracks to start with. Insane amount attacks per hour. After a bit I realized boosting all 4 was not the wisest plan of action. I only boosted 2 barracks given me 10 attacks per hour. I was making on average 4-5 mill profit per 2 hours session. some might say this bad. I was happy with this. 200-250 boosted session with 2 barracks to do you walls as a TH 9. I think that reasonable. Loot sometimes was really good would get 2 mill profit in 4-5 raids in 20-30 min. I had a few them. I also had a few periods where u went no where. Not too many though. On whole i was happy with the loot I got.

A few facts on breakdown of my walls

On update I had 2 Lavas and 32 Legos

After update 105 Legos done with Gold and 111 with Elixir
After update 138 Lavas done with Gold and 110 with Elixir

In the total after update 519 Mill (54.06%) with gold and 441 Mill (45.94%) done with Elixir. I used 4470 of my own gems for boost and 405 gem for build time on AQ ( DE was maxed). I spent 24.36£ of my own money to save a lot of hours farming time. I was really happy to do this as well, before I get called all sorts of names.

A lot of you might be blaming the so called loot problems onto Elixir for Wall Update. It not the main reason for this problem. Some of it can be blamed onto it. Because up-to now I did not hold a lot of gold or elixir. I kept a builder free and feed my walls, making sure I kept enough behind to do further builds, research and kept enough to build troops and hit the next button

yes too I like to use elixir to upgrade walls especially lvl 8+. You need both resources to do them as fast as possible.

i made 109 lavas until now without boost
i m not sure i ll finish all nexting makes me crazy but th10 loot issue also makes crazy

You are amazing. I have whatever amount of walls in my signature. And I'm only be able to turn it to 114 skulls, 112 lego and 24 lava at this point. Is barcher that good? I tried barcher a few time but it's... too hard for me. I keep seeing storage raids, with good amount of DE, and I can stop myself of attempting the raids. Well, I obviously fail, so I turn back to Giants Healer style, where I can earn about 400k resources total in one raids, plus some DE, or something 1k-2k5 DE.

We start playing around the same time. I got to TH9 a little before you. And I thought that I was improve quick :( I got all my defense max, though.

Im glad you can use elixir on walls now too, i just finished upgrading all my th9 defences and only have walls, heroes and traps left, will make it much easier to do walls now, plus i wont have max elixir constantly like i did when i was th8.

Yes the nexting can even get to me sometimes. I know after 4 min of nexting any target with 80-100 k combined is getting hit. My next troops will be ready when I get back to village. Keep the good work and tr your best to max walls and heros. Will help us both when we get to TH10

Barching or BAMing look like the quickest way to get good gold/elixir per hour. I use mainly barch with a few minions and WB's. Worked well for me getting all the gold/elixir I needed for my walls. It also got enough DE to get my Heros to level 16. Now mainly going after DE whilst I complete the rest of my buildings and heros for a TH9. I did not get my last builder until June. I played upto 3-4 weekes ago without buying gems. Brought the biggest pack and still got 2/3 nearly left. Money well spent on looking at the hours it saved raiding for walls.

I think most from Th 8 on-wards would wasted millions of elixir prior to the update. Hopefully you will get most done before you get to Th10 in the future.

Lets you look at targets differently. In the past if you were wall grinding you would only look a gold. Now you can look at gold+ Elixir and add both together You now can hit more then you could before the update. You now can save most probably third of the time you used to walls before update.

Thanks all for the kind words. Hope you get most of your TH's maxed, before you get bored or the new toys lure you to the next TH.

I'm still not 100% convinced on this.

Yes, 'surplus' elixir does not really exist anymore; but was that necessarily a bad thing?

I just look at how I raided then, and how I raid now.

Previously, I would use more 'balanced' armies. Switching between Barch, BAM, Loonion & Giant, WB based armies.

Now?

Never anything other then Barch or BAM because 1) there isn't as much elixir to raid to help fund the bigger armies and 2) I feel like I'm wasting opportunity to get more walls.

While yes, elixir does not get 'wasted' anymore; I think it is bad for raiding variety.

I have a few question for you if you don't mind:

- Which range of cup do you barch?
- Do you hit storage at all, or just collectors raids?
- How much loot a base need to has for you to attack it? (collectors/storage)
- Do you use Heroes? If you do, how important are Heroes in your attacking plan?
- How much DE do you often get per day (I know you don't purposely go for DE, but I just want an estimate)
- Do you use spell? How often? Which spell do you bring?
- Combination of troops. Do you thrown in some wbs? Or just Barch mainly with a few (aroudn 10 Minions)
- Your building "formular" for the barrack- what do you put on the two that you boosted.

Too much question, I guess. However, I just want to learn to Barch from a "newly sucessful" so I can apply it. I read a lot of barch guide on the forum. It's all good but for some reason I couldn't apply it. Maybe I was in the wrong cup range.

I did roughly half my walls with a giant/healer/WB army. Because back i was not boosting took 4 hogs and 8 minions just to help with the speed to build it. Back then my army cost 100k plus and more if i used a healing spell, I still made a good profit on elixir. I like my giant/healer I used 3 star most Th8 and a few TH9 and get all the loot. The lack of elixir did not make go barching, it was fact I could make nealry twice as much gold/elixir per hour profit.I am not even great barcher. I could 50% most of the bases I hit, but was never good at getting deep into bases for storage's. That would come with practice in the end.

-I ended up barching from 1900-2150 roughly, but with the crystal 3 badge.
- I would hit storages if behind one wall quite easily. behind 2 I would tend to give a lot of them miss. Most would be collectors raids, but would sometimes get a few of their storage's.
- I had 6 min window to my attack. If would hit a base with 200 k total if a lot nexting straight away. If loot was good would gamble and hit next hoping to hit a 400k plus. A few times I would regret that decision. Closer I get 4 min I would hit an easy 80-100k knowing my next troops would be built on return village. Plus I was getting 70k league bonus.
- been upgrading both heros for last 4-5 weekes. They are real asset in raiding if you got them. If avaible use at end for 50% or AQ to get a storage if practical.
I used to get 8-10k DE profit, without even going after it. If I found a big Th 10 with 3 full level 6 drills. I would hit even for no gold or elixir profit. Would zap De storage's or drills if player had TH trapped or i thought they were no longer playing.
- Spells. Will get the anti zapping squad onto me now. Used 4 lightning spells. Mainly to get 50% if needed or they trapped their TH and had good DE I would zap. If De hunting better spells to carry then lightning, like 2 rage 2 healing.
- I had 6 WB and around 12 minions. Would use WB to open walls up with barbs taken fire. Minions I would use to take out Heros, CC troops and help archers with Wizz Towers. Late would use to help get 50% or more resources. I would try and have rest half and half barbs and archers.
- used to boost barracks 1 and 2. one made archers other barbs. 3 and 4 unboosted and one making archers and other barbs. If I WB would make them in boosted barb barracks. if no WB used would make 6-8 archers in boosted barb barracks to level numbers slightly.

I now going mainly after DE. Will try barching and my back up plan is Gibarching. (14 giants, 12 WB, 56 archers, 44 barbs and 26 Gobs). I have spoken to a few who can make 20k plus DE per boosted session.

I ope this helps a bit. The league bonus in Crystal 3 helps loads. Plus with 2 barracks boosted you are looking at 10 raids per hour.
