Welcome to the forums, sir! Good to have you.
here is what CoC is to me.
its an opportunity to share an experience with my kids and their friends. I'm in a friends and family only clan of 14, beginners and farmers who sometimes get into the top 70,000 clans (yes, seventy thousand!).
to have something to discuss over dinner with the kids is priceless. Do I worry about what my teen boy and his friends are up to? No, because I know them. I like them. They like me. To me, CoC is a (very effective) tool in maintaining good relationships with kids whose lives could veer wildly off course from anything I know anything about.
it works. It's fun, and more importantly, it's fun we share.
i've become interested in many things over the years in order to share them with one or both of my kids. Chess club, Pokemon, basketball, music, black ops, dungeon defenders, now CoC. All fun, many of them things I'd never have tried if not for them.
my elder son is doing an overnight with a friend tomorrow night. As a parent, it's great to know that rather than all the things they could be doing (insert anything you wouldn't want a teen kid doing), they'll likely be on the clan chat with me and the wife.
the fact that it's fun is just gravy. :)
