It shouldn't cost more to raids than you're rewarded
Between search costs and troop costs it's getting harder and harder to find raid targets that are profitable. Conducting successful raids should be rewarded. Why not base the reward for normal raids on the difficulty of the base -- similar to how war rewards are determined (though they will obviously need to be smaller than war rewards).
if you don't want to do that, then lower search and/or troop costs.
No one enjoys having to search over a hundred targets to try to find one that won't end up losing them resources even if they win. It's ridiculous, frustrating and is sucking the fun out of the game.
