But yeah, that sounded kinda weird coming from a farmer, but yeah. :p
TH outside is normally there for the shield. When you don't get a shield early on in your "off-line" cycle, there is more chance of a high level player coming in and taking you for all your resources and actually not giving you a shield! My goal is to get your loot, not get a star! Eventually a dude with dragons, spells and L6 troops will find you and those replays might not be the ones you want to share.
If you want to protect your loot, try and get a shield as quickly as possible - that's my view.

Why would anyone attack a TH that close to the base anyway? They're already asking for trouble.
My TH is easy to get with just a few archers but I reserve the right to take all of an attacker's gold at some point in the future...
By the way just come across some guy called tjabo85. They had the same set up with 3 teslas round the TH. I 2 starred them and took 180k of their gold. probably not one of the funny replays...but to be fair, they never had L7 ones
personally i wouldnt waste 4 perfectly good teslas just to protect a few meager trophies. i would use all those traps to protect my loot, lol. but hey this is your realm, post the results! thanks. have fun bro.
I tried this one. One guy dropped 5 archers to destroy my TH, Teslas zapped them and then he took out 10 Dragons and 3 starred me.

Love it, if I were to attack I would expect to drop tons of troops ayways because the TH is in range of the mortar, I would probably skip.... on a side note... I did this with well placed giant bombs, spring traps, builders huts, and naturally occurring trees... I was able to stave off 225 lvl 6 barbs... missed recoding the video because I was near 200 trophys and I had too many attacks... boo..

I've encountered a few of these bases, where they make you work for that "defenseless" town hall and I usually end up farming them and leaving before 40% :)
First off, I am a farmer so I only ever destroy unprotected town halls when I am falling out of my ideal trophy range. I probably would not go for that town hall since there is a mortar near it, anyway. However, if I did, I would drop a giant to distract the mortar and the drop about 5 archers for the town hall. Once the teslas popped up I would simply farm your resources and leave. :)
I'll admit it probably does make for some funny replays, though.

Edit: On second thought, I would never go for that town hall. I just noticed the X-bow and a couple other defenses. :/ Definitely would only attack that base if I wanted to farm it.
I did this for a builder hit before except I added giant bombs as well. The guy who attacked me was very confused when this happened because he sent horde of 80 archers to my base, and the hut was the closest thing. The archers disintegrated. He then deployed 10 giants who were eaten by the giant bombs and wiz tower. For the finale, he deployed 3 drags and they did about 10% of damage before dying. The end result was a loss of 15 trophies with 10% damage that included 0 resources

As a farmer, I love the free shields.
But after being TH-sniped for the Nth time after the update,
which in return means that I need to reload my X-Bow & reset the traps that I put behind my TH,
I'm seriously contemplating sticking my 4 teslas & my last remaining giant bomb next to it.
It's not as though any other part of my base is going to be attacked anywayz!
