New matchmaking and game difficulty

I can fully understand the point you make about the game not being harder just fairer. The issue I and my clannies are having is that to win the 30t battles that dominate what is on offer, we need to be using expensive high level troops. More often than not the resource reward from winning one of these battles is less than the cost of raising the army it takes to win. This results in people running out of elixir to make their next army and being forced to stop play till their pumps catch up. Obviously stopping play is not ideal from anyone's standpoint.

A few suggestions of the top of my head:

Increase elixir/gold production rates to provide more resource. (My pick)
Or reduce the cost of units and upgrades.

Pretty much this. The majority of none whiners (haters going to hate anyway) that have complaints are all complaining about the same thing. Fighting fairer is not an issue but the cost of using high level troops is. At the moment with the loot v resource cost per battle the only way to win and continue winning is to buy gems or drop trophies. This may seem like good business practice but greed can also cost Supercell too. My £100 - £150 a week stops at this point. I'll continue to play I'll just no longer continue to pay. I lik upgrades, I'll pay for them, I don't like paying every few hours just so that I can attack.

Am I missing something? As far as I can tell the "new" matchmaking system has changed nothing.

I am on Level 36 and generally have around 280 to 350 trophies. I am still getting pitted against players with only 20 - 40 trophies and nothing to loot. What, if anything, have I overlooked?

Resources are no harder to get than they were before, but trophies are. If you take the righteous 'farming is evil' stance and fight to maintain your trophies, then your resources will suffer. If you value upgrades over trophies, you will do just fine but your epeen may shrink.

The end.

Edit: I forgot to mention option 3 - Sell your house and firstborn, buy 100k gems, then appear in the top 50 for a few days.

I'm actually working on those calculations for the wiki. I'm thinking around 200,000 gems might be what is required to max everything without even counting the costs of rushing construction or troops.

I'm level 61 with 2077 trophies. I still have no problems winning battles, so I don't think my trophy count is too high, but now I can't find any loot. I spent over 100k gold searching and found only a handful of guys with 100k gold or elixir. Do I still have to drop trophies to find loot, even if the competition is not getting more difficult? Doesn't seem fair. Or is it just bad luck?

A cacophony of complaints usually means a lot of people are affected. Just because you want to play a war game as a FarmVille player rather than trying for the ranks doesn't mean everyone else is wrong. I for one don't see why I have to lose trophies and fight easy targets with cheaper troops as a solution to what is obviously a resource balance issue. But that also doesn't mean I'll make a blaise comment regarding your stance on gaming, or offer you a reasonable solution to it such as selling your house and firstborn. Thanks very much for your constructive input, well done.
