Okay so just farmed all skulls but it took a while. What i did was max out defenses than i kept 1 builder free for walls. I don't think this is the best way especially with th 9 coming up and expensive walls. So what's the most efficient way to farm walls while keeping builders free and upgrading defenses at the exact same pace as usual?
Spreadsheet plan your builders so each one finishes on a different day, upgrades some walls, then have enough loot left over to buy the next upgrade. There should only be 1-2 days of not having a builder max, so fill up your storages during that time for when the next builder is free. If you plan right and can farm enough loot, you'll be able to upgrade walls while keeping builders busy. The downside to this plan is that you will be raided for loot sitting in your storages more if nobody snipes you for a shield.
its a struggle. i am a th9 with full skulls and only 4 or 5 defenses left i have only 90 legos. what i have been doing is did all the short upgrades such as cannons and did 4 at the same time. kept 1 builder free and dumped what ever gold i had while those were upgrading into walls, same goes with heros. if im upgrading heros im also upgrading 2 defences as well. and then just dumping with the free builder. i am 5 months into th9 and have about a month left.
What I did before was I set/plan my upgrades, making them have a 1-day gap. I also planned upgrades to finish few minutes/hours before I log out so that I could upgrade walls.
Well i only use 4 of them and the other one is for my walls.
The most efficient way to upgrade walls is to (also previously mentioned) plan out your upgrades and put loot into walls right before your next upgrade.
Plan ahead so you have a day between free builders and overraid so you can spend the excess on walls. For example I raided 5m Gold and 7m Elixir last night so I spent 8m on Lego walls then upgraded a Cannon to lvl 11 (3.2m).
Well if you plan your builders you can upgrade your walls to lvl9 at least.
I do believe, most of th9 with level 10 walls are either gemmers or stayed very long just to max it.
My strat for upgrading walls are, every time that a builder finishes up I'm always making sure that he always upgrade 1 or more walls. Sometimes if 2 builders are going to finish I plan what my next upgrade will be and tries to save some gold for it. Always make sure that you're builders are busy and you always make sure that there are 2-3 days gap before their work is done to make sure that your gold will not be prone to raids.
