Golem vs giant

I am hesitating to upgrade my dark barrack to get the golem. Eventually, i will do it but not now as i have other upgrading priorities. I wonder what is the benefit of golem vs giant (level 5). I know both units are used tank. A golem has (4500/30) = 150 HP per housing space. A lvl 5 giant has: (670/5) = 134, which is a bit less but can be compensated by the higher DPS of a giant. The main drawback of a golem is the huge cost of dark elixir, so I wonder why are people using golem?

Maybe because there are levels for golem other than 1...lol what noobs are playing this game?!?

Golems are better than giants in wars as they do have high HP even at lvl 1 (4500) their dps is not much of a concern as their primary goal is tanking for the dps troops behind them. They also do not get sprung by traps like giants do which is a con for using giants as main tank in an attack.

You have a better chance of three starring a base of equal strength as yours using golems as tank regardless of level and those odds just get better as golem lvl is upgraded. More than likely you will see a lot of high percentage 2 stars and as golem gets leveled up see more and more 3 stars.

Hey everybody was once a noobs. I am at TH8 and those are options I have: giant 5 or golem 1. I am fully aware that golem has more than 1 level.

Golems also split when killed. Don't wast d.e on Golems for normal farming. Just use them in wars or if you ar trophy pushing

Good point! I forgot about that extra hp from the splitting helps. Except the golemites can then be sprung.

Your golem will take 1/6 as much damage as your group of giants when the mortar, wiz tower, or giant bomb hits.
