Farming and Farming bases revisited.
Farming - The original term farming was quoted to depict a concept where the sole reason for playing the game was to gather as many resources as one wishes to and to protect the current one's. Farming usually was raiding a lot getting tons of resources without regard to league or trophies. Now it just means gathering resources with a minimum number of troops expended , trophies is now the individual concern of each farmer. Over time many farming strategies were formed and are still under research. New strats are sprouting nearly daily and old ones are being revised regularly. To name a few, I would like to name a few popular strategies, each can be found in the attack strats sub.

Farming bases - During farming we gather a lot of resources sometimes in millions. To protect these respurces we need to have a strong layout, one that allows minimal resource damage if raided. The thing to keep in mind during designing bases for farming is that all storages are needed to be separated. If all storages are clustered in one compartment, it only takes a few giants and goblins to reap it all.
We are often told to keep our town hall outside during farming. Now that is a good way to earn shield and protect resources. What is needed to be kept in mind is that the town hall needs to be completely unprotected, otherwise it has the exact opposite effects of what is desired. People looking to move up generally only hit the town hall and move out with the trophies. If the town hall is protected the one aiming for trophies loses more number of troops than he/she thinks. This agitates them as they incur an unnecessary loss. Then rather than just going away with trophies they go after your resources as well. Sometimes taking a lot. Traps placement near the town hall actually is very troublesome for the raider and the one being raided. Traps make raiders lose troops and once your traps go off they need to be rearmed again. Which costs around 45k depending on the level off traps/bombs. Which is a good amount when you are saving up. Also these traps/bombs/teslas can be placed better to protect your resources. So keep in mind to keep your town hall defenseless.
Farmers and town hall sniping - Farmers usually raid in a series of attacks, sitting for upto 2-3 hours. This often makes them drop to below a desired league. To get back up or just to reach a desired level of trophies farmers seek open town halls. In such cases they raid the town hall, take the trophies and be their merry way. This helps them expend least troops posdible and get a few trophies in return which helps them get a bit closer to where they wish to be.
Now concluding it can be easily seen how farming bases shall be dedesigned. The free shield from town halls is a very major part of the layouts.
I would like new and old all dedigners to pay heed to this and if possible incorporate in their layouts.
There might be a few cases where the attacker takes away your town hall and loot as well. I would advice not to be demotivated. Raid them back. Hit them with all you've got and by that with revenge you not just get more trophies but more loot as well.
