What you yourself said. War is never fair, clash or real life.
No doubt! Our clan hasn't seen an even matchup in the past 15 wars - both in and against our favor. Gets boring after a while.
They need to have an option on the start war button that let's you select if you want to prioritize a quick search (aka the match may not be as even) or an even match (which could take hours to complete).
Our clan would prefer to wait. Realizing that some may have ADD/or whatevs - they can find a quick match. Problem solved.
War's never been fair in the history of mankind.
I would agree with the need for a strategy map. The game needs something other than chat which can get a bit hectic during clan wars . Things drop off chat quickly and organising things can be ... testing.
I would also agree that recommended can be of limited value. Often who attacks who is determined by preferred troop composition, ability, troop levels etc and not always match the recommended target.
But I disagree that it is not of any value. That the game decides in a recommended target is interesting in itself. Or rather how. Particularly when there appears to be a mis match.
The only reason i can think for this disparity is that the game considers different criteria for choosing the clan to battle against and who individuals should attack. This surely must come down to troop levels. Maybe I'm wrong.
For me I'm enjoying the challenge of clan wars in the 10 v10 clan. Win or lose i have a chance to attack harder bases than having to wait until nearly the end of war and 3 star a lower base.
But sometimes in our main clan it has been a major headache
Yeah the match ups are ♥♥♥♥. My clan sat out 4 wars in a row because it was too mismatched.
The recommended target thing is braindead simple: assign weakest enemy player of same TH level that offers the most stars. Once that player has been starred, the next one up that hasn't been starred will be the recommended and so on... it's more complicated than that but I'm sure the details will be obvious now that you realize what the system is doing.
go around your clan and ask all your clanmates who the system recommends to them. it'll be the same for all players of the same TH level.
The recommended target system is a complete joke at the moment.
In my clan I am usually the 5th ranked base (changes from war to war depending on who opts out of war), I have have all troops maxed except for Drags, Valks, Lava Hound, Gobs, and Lightning, Max camp space, spell factory, and barracks, BK24 and AQ20. Every single war we fight my recommended target is somewhere between # 20 to 30 on the enemy side, usually one of the lowest TH10s on the opposing side.
Most of my clan are also seeing the same ridiculous recommended targets as well and it does not matter whether or not we are the stronger clan in the match or not. If everybody attacked their initial recommended target the top 20 bases would never get hit.
As far as the OP goes, I believe that although there is undeniably the occasional mismatch, overall the matchmaking does a pretty good job of finding fair and fun match-ups, at least for my clan, and my previous clan as well.
Actually, the matchmaker *used* to do a good job. I think something's changed recently because the last several wars
I've been in have been completely bogus. 2 wars ago, as an average th10 farming clan, we got matched with the #3 clan in the game. The last few haven't been much better. My entire clan has pretty much given up on bothering with wars.
