Why does SC have to do this?

The AI is not always great but that being said programming all theses variables is probably pretty hard

Its not designed to be horrible. Just random.

With the new mods that users can apply to the game, it makes attacks more unpredictable. Its a little frustrating, but if you place your troops correctly you can guide them quite well.

I literally just tried this and still the king doesnt go straight well i guess he did...straight to a builders hut that wasn't even close to where i dropped him!!

they don't its REALLY hard to code things perfectly and sometimes glitches happen and when they do the ai doesn't affect it at all
supercell does a REALLY good job coding their games and u probably couldn't do any better

They release updates that make the AI worse than it was. Like the last healer AI update.

You should NEVER release an update that is less functional, it's a clear sign you have no idea what you're doing.

I'm sure it is, but it is their job, it is what they get paid to do. A few months ago these troop AI stupidities did not exist (wall breakers are ridiculously STUPID) so either the programming talent has been depleted or they purposely has dumb down troop AI. As far as strategy goes, figuring out stupid really does not work so SC should to get back to making troop AI legitimate instead of a joke.
