Personally I like the Dennison Edwards. I can't explain why but when I looked at both of these the top one just seemed more appealing to me.

Slurpee guy only because the top one has so much empty space on the right it seems like its missing something :p

Can you rename to "Dennison Edwards VS. Slurpee/Slushy - Which is better?" We still don't know the origins of his icy beverage.

But I'm going with DE, simply because it's not monotone.

Slurpy the drink is da best. Top one's words were hard to see.. You wouldn't know what it was unless you read it in the OP. Although Dennison was visualy more appealing to me, it seemed it was missing something in the right, and the words were iffy. So slurpee.

The first one's things on the left are very appealing. But as Ema said, the empty space changes my opinion too.

But the thing is, did you recognize that you can't actually just crop it out out it'd look weird. A solution to that is moving the render and the stuff to the right a bit... Tiny bit not too much.

The first one is better. You have two colors present, the placement and size of the render does not take up a majority of the tag, and the negative space on the left balances out the right side of the tag. In the second one, the render takes up a lot of space which leaves you less room to arrange your elements cohesively, lending to that cluttered look.

You can can add a simple dark gray to black gradient on the first's background. In general, try to avoid using solid colors unless you planned to.
