Archers, what's gone wrong?

Well since the update my Archers have developed Alzheimers. They seem to lose their way, attack targets that are some distance away (rather than nearest) and hardly ever work together!

They were one of the strongest troops in the game; however, now they're just like a Nan who has walked out the house, in the middle of the night, in just her nighty.

Why do they attack mines before weapons, why do they no longer fire together at the same wall section and why do they drop their soup in their laps!

Can't we have our old Archers back...............please?

Well something changed, because they now act differently and I noticed it after the patch.

Lots of stuff changed, not archers though.

Could just be that their behavior was less detrimental to their survival before the update. Might be noticing their stupidity more because it is now costing them their lives. As we know, archers are particularly vulnerable to splash damage. Now that that splash targeting has been corrected, the potential lifespan of an archer has been reduced. I know I have noticed a big change with splash sensitive troops (archers and gobs).

IMO they should've fixed splashed and seen the impact before adding an extra wiz tower to th9 also, but that's another story. Testing things properly requires resources that multi million dollar companies don't have, apparently :)

I made a thread about this yesterday myself. Yes, they act different for me as well. Could be because i just recently upgraded them to level 4....but i doubt it. Their targeting has gotten horrible. Heres a screen shot i caught last night because I was getting frustrated after they were giving me trouble all day yesterday. The pic doesnt show my main worries with archers but it does show one flaw they have.

I attack probably 30 times a day..... ive noticed something changed.

In this pic my attack went horribly wrong partly because of the archers. I had 2 left and decided to test it out on the builders hut and spell factory. I pressed the screen and held it down instead of tapping the screen twice.

Yes, that is very common for archers, if you haven't seen it before you are lucky.

I believe Holton if referring to the archers being right next to the hut but attacking the spell factory.

one archer walks right next to the hut to shoot the spell factory behind the hut the other archer shoots the hut. Now picture the hut being a cannon, archer tower, wiz tower........ It happens all the time now. Groups of them do this. They walk right up to a cannon to shoot a barrack behind the cannon.

what level are your archers out of curiosity ?

I have notice the same thing too.. They will walk right pass a target to attack one further

i love how update, after update we see the same thing: ARCHERS AND BARBS SUCK NOW!!!!!!
but they did nothing to them lol

Some of the complaints could be due to OP/others has moved up in level. Could be. Old strategy need to evolve, extra WT, higher level/extra def added etc. I still see ppl spam 180-200 archers attacking a developed TH8, and I pity the one shot killed by mortar and WT.
But yeah, the archers has been shooting at different wall segments since I started the game Nov last year. They have strangely target a building further than the canon that's shooting at them ... and some other frustration as if the game is against us. But if the troops are smarter, yr base will hv very low chance of surviving

My Archers are and have been for some time (including well before the update) level 4.

Just to clarify; I'm not referring to the damage from mortars or poor deployment, but more so their unpredictable nature of attack.

I had an attack strategy that proved successful more often than not; however, the part the Archers play is now less effective and the only change was the update.

They, like every other troop in the game, tend to act weird sometimes.
