The ULTIMATE Wall Farming Guide!
Hello fellow Clashers! Since I am often asked about my walls and how I farmed them, I've decided to create a thread on the topic! Keep in mind this is not a thread about loot and whether it is good or not in each of the ranges I talk about and I go on past experience as well as the word of people I currently know in each range and level of play. I have broken this guide down into different sections with groups of wall levels I believe fit together in difficulty and level of play. I hope this thread helps you out in your quest for those zaps! ;) *click on pictures to enlarge*

Section 1: Wall Levels 1-5
Wall levels 1-5 are generally pretty easy. With my second account (th7) I've leveled all my walls to 5 strictly collecting my mines and pumps occasionally. I don't foresee anybody having too much difficulty with these guys.
Trophy Range: I would suggest staying below 1000 cups
Appropriate Town Hall: Your town hall should match in level with your walls for wall levels 1-5.
Section 2: Wall Levels 6-7
Level 6 walls are where it starts to get a bit challenging. You can't just collect your mines and pumps anymore. For these guys I would begin to barch or use giant/barch combinations. You can still upgrade a couple walls per raid so it shouldn't be too challenging.
Trophy Range: 1000-1200
Appropriate Town Hall: Town Hall 6-7
Level 7 walls are where many people stop upgrading their walls. I see many many th9 and 10's with level 7 walls regardless of their defense and hero level. If you ever plan to upgrade walls higher than 7, do not upgrade to town hall 9 with them. As far as farming strategy goes, use a barch or giant/barch army and go for inactive bases or weaker th7/8s with juicy storages.
Trophy Range: 1200-2000
Appropriate Town Hall: 7-8 at the highest (if you plan on any higher walls)
Section 3: Wall Level 8
Level 8 walls are the lowest acceptable walls for high level play. Many medium to high level clans require skulls to get in. These walls actually start to require some real effort to upgrade and may take you a month or so to do depending on your farming rate. At this point, a barch or bam army is required and you need to be raiding as often as possible (preferably as soon as your army finishes).
Trophy Range: 1400-2000
Appropriate Town Hall: 8-10
Section 4: Wall Levels 9-11
As all of these wall levels are similar in gameplay level and difficulty, I've grouped them all together in strategy but I will go over farming for them in three different types of trophy ranges.
Gold to Crystal Legue Farming:
Many players prefer to farm in lower leagues and this is very doable, but it requires more storage raiding than other leagues. Generally target th8-9s if you are going for storage raids and try to gain at least 150k gold and elixir per raid. Farming down here I would suggest using bam as you are probably not going to net enough dark elixir to upgrade heroes very quickly. With a bam army comp you can raid every 10-20 minutes and even faster if you raid with a partial army. At th9 I would raid when my camps hit 150/220 and still be able to win and secure gold. The best way to do this would be to snipe as many buildings as possible and use your troops sparingly. Try to take out the first two layers of buildings (outside/first layer inside walls) with barch and use minions to fly to the gold or elixir storage located further in. I would suggest boosting bi-daily or daily to speed up the process.
Master Farming:
My favorite (and current) farming range is masters league. This was a good farming spot before loot bonuses were buffed but after, it is even better. You won't always find bases that are completely dead but the trick is to raid the bases that are partially dead.

Take this base above. If I were to raid it I woud net 60-80k profit. This seems like a puny amount but with the bonus added on it becomes a respectable raid of around 170k gold and elixir. A lot of little raids like this add up in the big picture. Plus, there are still the huge dead bases out there that will earn you 400k gold and elixir with the bonus on top. The ability to be able to take the lower loot bases in times of dry loot can be crucial. For walls level 10-11 you need to boost once a day and up here, it usually earns me 3-4 million elixir and gold (and the de stacks up nicely as well). You will need to use a barch army as bam isn't consistent enough for the 50% and that loot bonus you desperately need.
Champions Farming:
During my recent push to champs (I stopped at 3497), I used all archers on the way up- I will throw a link to my all archer pushing guide at the bottom of this post, please check it out if you are interested ;). This actually turned a profit and I was able to do some walls while pushing (even in the loot dry m1) thanks to the bonuses. In champions league, the loot bonus is a whopping 180k gold and elixir! This comes at a price and downside, though, as I will explain.
In addition to the crazy loot bonus, 3200-3400 offers some great loot bases as well. There are decent amounts of collectors full as well as many people who throw their loot further outside because they are pushing. You will find lots of storages accessible by all archer raids. An average champions raid will be about 200k gold as well as the 180k bonus. But many raids can total up to 500, even 600k gold!
Although the loot is wonderful in champions league, there are many downsides to farming up there. One such issue is maintaining cups. Trying to stay in champions without a fully maxed base requires staying online constantly while raiding. The minute you log off, you will most likely be flipped upside down by a gowipe raid. So, your days farming must be done in 2-6 hour sessions without boosting (I will get to why in a second).
As you will be raiding stronger bases, you will need heroes and spells for every raid. 240 archers won't usually get you the 50 by themselves. You will need to boost heroes and spells while online so that you don't have to wait 1-3 hours to get them back. This means you won't be able to boost barracks because the hero and spell train time won't train as fast as your troops. Which brings us to the next issue, which is that you will need to use some gems for things other than boosting. (you also can't upgrade your heroes as you need them)
If you can manage all of this, then by all means go for it! Champions League is by far the most fun league to be in and can be very rewarding if you have the patience.
Once you get to lava walls, wall farming can become long and dragged out. Just stay focused and take it day by day and you'll be fine!
Thank you for checking out my wall thread! Please, leave a comment if you have anything opinions or anything you want to share (maybe a wall success story? :D). Good luck and hope this helps!
Cheers,
Wompy
