Well done. Can I get traps layout for warbase?
Hi. I've pmed you for the war base layout. Thanks.
It doesn't look that great, and a couple heal spells with AQ+lvl6 giants+lvl 6 barch, and your base is gone. it wouldn't be so hard with lvl 5 troops either, im pretty sure your lvl 6 mortars have helped a ton in defense. But honestly, no matter how your base is, if I can use 2 pairs of wall breakers to get to your core with much trouble, then there's a serious problem.
Hi BigC,
I am going to post my defense log for you to use 😊
So far 6 attacks and I have one victory against a th 9 LOL (I am using the farming version). I have two snipes and 4 attacks.. mainly because I farm a lot and always have resources on stand by for my next upgrade :x
Anyways, I am upgrading a lot of my core defenses and yet this Base is extraordinary; I only got smashed up by a th10 which is normal hahaha.
Cheers man, keep a good cheer, ignore those who don't appreciate. Knowing that we can never satisfied everyone.
Update you once I hit 10 defenses.
Ever since I started using Bowser a few days ago, I've found that the funneling works incredibly well, but the southern weakness is absolutely real. Though the only attacker to successfully exploit it so far (I've been sniped a LOT more with this layout than I was before) was a very strong TH9 rocking 18 level 6 Giants, 26 level 5 Wizards, and a level 14 Queen. I could hardly expect any TH8 base to hold up especially well against that, and it didn't help that this was on my alt, who has rather weak defenses.
However, this loss does demonstrate something that I hadn't realized until I started writing this out... Putting your King in the south is a terrible idea. Having him there, as the farming layout suggests, means any troops that get deployed in the south will be drawn toward him, instead of being drawn around the outside by the external structures. That was the reason that wizard horde was able to wreck my core so easily: they got sucked directly into it by the King, completely negating the external merry-go-round.
So I've decided to move my King up into the central vault, directly north-west of my DE storage. That puts him far enough back he's unlikely to draw troops toward him, but still leaves him capable of harassing funneled Giants moving toward the west. This also makes him 100% un-lurable.
In addition, I moved the Air Defenses a bit north, to ensure that even with a broken southern vault wall, the giants will stay in the funnel instead of breaking into the core. Even if they go after the far southern Air Defense, they will move directly back into the funnel because there's an Archer Tower that's much closer to them than the Air Defenses and Wizard Towers within the vault.
Another thing I tweaked was Bomb and Giant Bomb location. I started with their placements in the third farming base suggestion in BigC's initial post, then I moved the two Bombs near the storages to a location slightly out in front of the the south-west spot between the Army Camp and Lab, and moved a Giant Bomb in front of the south-east section of wall between the Army Camp and Elixir Collector. That leaves bombs in place to kill the three most likely attack vectors (direct south, south-west, and south-east) for Wall Breakers. It should kill the first set of Wall Breakers before they bust through the wall, and will really ruin anyone's day who releases all their breakers at once in the wake of their Giant horde (which I see quite a lot).
An interesting future tidbit is that max level Bombs, available at TH9, deal exactly enough damage to 1-shot level 5 Wall Breakers. That lets you cover even more potential attack vectors, since you don't need to double up on Bombs unless you're expecting a lot of TH10 attackers.
Just got 3-starred by an army I think this base could have held to 2-star with just a tiny tweak. The critical failure was that a horde of Giants from the south, moving clockwise, destroyed the bottom-left Cannon and then split up, half going through the funnel, and half busting through the inner wall to take out the Mortar. Having broken out of the funnel, they went counter-clockwise to take out the bottom-right Archer Tower, which distracted my eastern defenses long enough for a Queen and Archers in the south, and a BK + Archers from the west to bust up my vault.
I think the solution to this is putting the far-west and far-east defenses closer to their nearby south-west/south-east counterparts. In addition, the spring trap should be placed on the inside of the funnel, giving Giants a more direct path through it. I'm hoping that this will convince them not to break through the wall toward the Mortar. I've made similar tweaks to some of the other spring traps, too, making absolutely certain that giants will have the most direct possible route between the defenses in the funnel.
I'm hoping that I'll be an especially good case study for this layout, as my walls are maxed, but my buildings aren't, so I'm going to be constantly resource capped for the next month. And since I'm in Crystal 3, I'm likely to be attacked by exactly the kind of armies this base is designed to fight. In the three days I've been using Bowser, this is the only attack that's been a non-snipe, which means the intimidation factor alone is working quite well.
Just received the trap layout, not even tried it out yet, but came here to appreciate you taking the time to pm me back BIGC... Really appreciate it, and sent u the email with what was requested for the rest of the layout.
Warm Regards
Thanks again! Good to see you making some tweaks, ok, I need to see some images in order to make proper recommendations, but I think you may have misplaced the tesla which would cause the Giants to target the mortar as mentioned. It is of the utmost importance that you get the spacing of the defensive buildings inside the funnel exact in order to keep the giants engaged with them. I wouldn't recommend moving them closer together as will disrupt the funneling mechanism. But by all means, share some images and we can work through a solution.
