I still think it's so wrong that the Jolly Roger, a symbol or piracy/thieving/raiding is only available by gems...just wrong.

I got the Pirate flag out of the gems for hitting champs for the first time as a reward.
The statue is just rubbish.

Yes they are permanent, and for that reason alone I would get them.
That reason aside though, I would have saved for boosting. Sure, you can keep all 5 builders busy, but remember that you are at th9. The upgrades only get more expensive, but their times do not change drastically. What you may be finding easy right now, may all change.
On the brighter side, that pirate flag sure is schmexy! ;)

I made exactly the same decision when i got the 1000 gems for hitting masters the first time.
Decorated my base with them, never regretted it.

To each their own. Personally I'm saving them to get a trophy record most clashers don't have, but we don't all have the same goals. Nice insight on your thought process, almost convinced me to get them, ha ha ha.

There's a myth that loot is better for people that buy them. I was thinking about buying them just to try it out and see if there really is a noticeable change.
