I felt like I paid for gems more often when my loot stacked. With no loot being available it's taking me more time to get get it.. Therefore not buying gems. Anyone else notice this?
Absolutely. I refuse to spend gems on loot but sometimes use them to speed up an upgrade. Longer times gaining loot mean less opportunity for me to use gems. Guess they should've thought of that before the worst update in history...
I was looting too much gold and would occasionally gem upgrades to finish and free up a builder for the next upgrade but after the last update I am not doing this anymore. Supercell is taking this game in the wrong direction by continuing to reduce loot available to raid and I'm not going to buy gems until they free up more loot at the higher TH levels or majorly increase the league bonuses.
Apparently SC is saving you a lot of money.
You should thank them! Stop complaining.
Same thing here too. since the loot has dropped, I find it not necessary to spend gems to speed up building. Instead of having no builders free, I now have at least 1. I guess I can not complain though, as the game is free and gemming is only necessary to those like me who get impatient for a builder to free up..
On a side note, I have much respect for those with the patience I don't have lol!
If you can't find enough resources to keep your builders busy that's your own fault.
Wow! You really read a lot into what is written here. I never said I need to spend gems to have fun.
Read carefully!
I enjoyed the game more before the last update when more loot was available. Not as much fun now with less loot and more searching. It slows the game down more, and it is a slow game to begin with. I was happy to play and spend 5 bucks a week or so. Thats $250 a year that Im happy to throw their way cuz I really liked playing this game. If they go any further with loot reductions I'm gone. Just not loving the game as much and there was no good reason to make the change. Multiply $250 by 100,000(about 10% of players) that might walk away from the game to get $25 million/year and suddenly Supercell might take notice.
They would now need to increase the raidable loot from storages by 25% to return to where this game was lots of fun. That is a big difference! They really put the screws to their customers with this latest update. They need to make more loot available at TH8 & TH9 which would not go against their policy of "protecting the newer players".
If it was no problem before the change, but now it is, then it would be the fault of SC because they made the change.
I'm not saying I can't keep them busy. It just takes longer playing to loot the same amount of resources. This makes the game less fun. I'm hanging on right now in hopes they make it better in the next update. If the bonuses aren't raised or the raidable loot is not raised then I wont be spending any more time with this game. I will let my 7 year old play it but there will be no more gem buying.
Spoken like someone who has no idea how the loot penalty that was implemented has effected the "bonus" we are now given. Do some research before you hop on the forums and talk ♥♥♥♥ to people who are trying to have positive changes made in this game. Ill be glad to link you to a few threads you should read if youre actually interested in knowing anything about what you're weighing in on here.
His logic may not make sense to you, but it has merit. I really don't understand why your posts are ALWAYS so "pro supercell". Any time someone points out how they are screwing the game up you immediately go into defense mode.
I'm sure if there was a thread where a large chunk of people, via poll, pledged not to buy any more gems until SC actually offers to correct their blatant missteps concerning loot in the last update, then it very well would get their attention. Believe it or not, their constant development of new content for us to gem actually does support the sentiment that they care about making money. Maybe by hitting them where it hurts they will actually perk up and listen to the reasoning that many players have brought up concerning why there is less loot now than before the "bonuses" we were given.
Oh no, the game is more difficult now!! There are less loot available to raid!! Oh no!!! What do i do???
Guess what? I decided to play on and try to improve my raiding skills so that i can make more.
I understand that you are a very expert clasher and have reached the ultimate clasher level. So any reduction in loot has to be blamed on SC because your raids are perfect and there is no room for improvement.
Me pro supercell? I can easily ask why are you so anti supercell and your explanation will sound as stupid to me as how mine sound to you.
My opinion on the less loot issue: Less loot, oh big whoop, i play on.
Now, that's how defensive i can get, Mr-anti-supercell-forever-unhappy-about-the-game.
SC, pls dun make e game ezy cos dat will be your ultimate downfall. There r plenty of Pple willing to pay to try a good challenging game, but if they quit... It's not your fault... World has millions of pple. Im still enjoying e game till date cos im still farming at lvl79, TH9 n i just got 3 Stars by someone last nite... ouch!.... Lol..
"Playing on" is one option, but some people actually care about the playability of the game at TH8 and beyond.
All the "don't make the game too hard" posts that have popped up in the last couple of replies are seriously uninformed.
If everyone had unlimited resources, do you realize how long it would STILL take you to max a base out completely just based on build times alone? The time it takes is a set amount. All they are doing by lowering loot is causing hardcore players to invest 10 hours per day instead of 8 to get the same amount of loot as before the update. No one should reward them for this action by gemming if they weren't already, and I don't think many people will.
The fact is, it took me around 6 weeks to max TH7 with the old loot system. This is with about 8 hours of playing time per day. That is a LONG TIME for one small aspect of a game people. When you factor in that when you get to th8 and th9 loot was ALREADY too scarce, and building times were ALREADY much longer, any overall reduction in loot is completely unacceptable. If they had a good reason for doing it concerning game balance then that is one thing, but the reason they gave was a complete crock and you're choosing to ignore that.
You should not blindly accept changes that benefit ONLY supercell and not the players. That is the fatal flaw of the "defenders" here. If theyre making changes that are going to even further delay an ALREADY tedious process that most people will not play through to completion, it is basically telling the people who have already invested 6 months into this game that "hey, I know you thought you were two months away from achieving your goal in this game, but now we have tacked on another 3 months for absolutely no reason, yet we are going to blatantly lie to your face and tell you that you're making MORE loot than before."
If youre really okay with that, then by all means, play on. I'm glad to see that there are some people here who actually have a reasonable understanding of the world they live in and can think for themselves. Take a loot at how many times SC has implemented something (DE troop upgrades, mine upgrades, spell cook times) with no thought whatsoever to how it effects the game. Their initial thought process is "let's get people to spend money on stuff by making it as unattainable as possible to begin with, and if they complain enough or stop paying for it then we will actually take the time to have it make sense eventually". This is not a mindset that you should tolerate from a gaming company that is making the kind of serious cash that they are from a game. Since I've invested my own money into the game, I feel I deserve the right to be heard, much like OP.
If that doesnt rub you the wrong way like it does most people, then by all means, play on. Anyone who takes their own time and money seriously will be want to hold them accountable for their nonsense, though.
TH7 is where the fun is at. As long as you don't mind the occasional TH9 coming by and wiping your entire base (and only getting 100K to 150K of your MAXED stashes) and don't mind the fact that you don't get to test out the cooler toys (Golem, Xbow, Valkryie, etc...) then life can be good. You will be sitting on daily MAX gold/elixir storage once you max everything due to the loot bonus you get from raiding poorly designed TH9s, and there are plenty of them.
TH8 is where it starts to get serious.
TH9...I don't know, but I'm making the leap soon. I'm going to be melting gems like they are hot sticky gummy bears in my hand.
Why should their concerns sound stupid when you said yourself that you acknowledged these points? So you agree on one thread than say those same explanations are stupid? Stop disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing. If you are happy, good for you. People are not anti supercell, if they were they will quit rather than waste their time giving their concerns...... Maybe you don't understand the point of feedbacks and how criticism helps improve the game more than "omg love it" especially if the problem is real and you acknowledged it too lol...
Most people aren't asking to get rid of the league, they are asking to compromise. With your attitude, there will never be any changes unless the company see it fit on their own agenda. So you would tell someone who buys a new car and complain about the problem and tell them by saying " adapt to the problems of your car and overcome it. Stop whining."? While in reality, the complaints led to safety recalls of many vehicles. In that same sense, criticisms can help improve the game regardless of your acceptance. You make a great salesperson because they would always ignore the problems and point only to the benefits.
Most people are demanding a compromise, not asking. They've asked. SC responded. Move on. What SC chooses to do isn't based on what the masses tell them to do, it is what is in the best interest of their company.
God what a horrible analogy. Are you seriously trying to compare highway safety to some pixels on a video game? Really? There is no comparison. Supercell isn't making your driving more treacherous if you keep on playing-unless of course you are trying to clash while driving, which is of course highly discouraged and people who do this should be met with a wet fish to the forehead.
The analogy is to show a problem not to compare life problems with game problems but to show problems with problems leading to solution. It doesn't matter if you belittle it or not or I give a better analogy you would have responded the same. What SC chooses does depend on the masses, because their business depend on the masses not the minority.
His analogy is spot on. If you don't understand it then thats your problem. People spend money on a service and they expect it to function in a reasonable manner without constantly having setback after setback. This is no different than if you bought a car that is advertised at 40 mpg, yet every time you take it in for maintenance they tell you they've "improved" it's performance, though what they didn't tell you is it gets 2mpg per gallon less every time it is serviced.
My prior example was concerning the times they assigned to dark troops to begin with. A level 3 dragon upgrade took 10 days, compared to a worthless level 2 minion upgrade that took 14. Mine upgrade times rendered them unprofitable for 20+ days once you upgraded past level 9 due to the resource loss during your upgrade time, etc etc etc. My point is that a little thought up front would've let them get it right the first time. Instead, they put stuff into the game and make it as ridiculous as they possibly can, which strikes me as them seeing what the players will actually "bite on" and what they won't. If something was TOO ridiculous, they eventually change it after months of complaining. If they'd just try to get things right the first time instead of hyping up every update only to let people down then things would go a lot smoother.
How could they misjudge things this badly?
14 days on minions reduced to 5?
4 hour spells reduced to 30 minutes?
These are no minor miscalculations. These are examples of them giving absolutely no thought to the game from a PLAYER perspective, which is the entire problem.
Agreed on the constant tweaking being absurd, especially in regards to research times. They obviously jack the time way up after releasing the update, counting on those top players to instantly gem, after which they reduce times to a somewhat more reasonable amount. However, after being duped several times I now just try and wait for a couple weeks for times to normalize.
I am TH 9 and i have no problem with raiding for gold. Maybe you are bad attacker or your cup is too high. I got minimum 3 mils a day.
You've missed the entire point. No matter how much you make, you're automatically making less than you were before the last update due to the added penalty. Since the reason given for this penalty was complete nonsense, there was no reason for the change other than to further slow down an already tedious game.
"You can't always get what you wantttttt, but if you try sometimes you still don't get what you needddd, aww yehhhh".
I hate change as much as the next guy. However, I was miserable after the update but now i'm back to farming 3 million a day as a TH9. It's possible but you just need to adapt and try to use different techniques and strategies. The resources are there, you just got to know how to get it. I can honestly say I have had to use a whole different stategy and farming range to get back to 3 million a day though.
Seriously? I thought you were smarter than that. Adaptation requires a sustainable environment. You can't adapt to nothing. I'm not saying there's nothing to adapt to but it just too little, and it gets tinier and tinier with each update.
If I put you on a tropical 2 miles large/wide island? Will you adapt in order to survive? I bet you will. Would you achieve the same on an island that's 2 yards wide? Will you adapt and OVERCOME on that tiny 2 yard island? Really?
Is this analogy good enough for you?
When I started playing (back in August), the "island" was pretty vast, now, after so many nerfs, it became a ... sh*t stain that's not fun/worth adapting to for the most people in here (unless you gem of course).
I wouldn't mind spending GEMS to cut building times if my storages were maxed (due to abundant loot).
Loot is fine.. i have plenty of videos since the update with high loot raids, i haven't noticed any change, maxed collectors still give a ton of loot and there's plenty of bases with them.
Here is a 800k raid.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdTk7-9sqKg
We are a couple on our clan having never spent a cent on the game... I myself have farmed both my xbows, all my lvl5 troops, my lvl7 lab and after our trophy hunt i'll farm for archers level6.. Yes it is possible... One of our members is lvl85+ having only bought the 4th builder with left over money from a close to expiring itunes card... What is more, it is fun to protect your resources!! And even more fun looting them!!
You can't always get what you wantttttt, but if you try sometimes you still don't get what you needddd, aww yehhhh
As a TH8 I have the most trouble farming elixer. I am lucky to find a base with over 100k that isnt some maxed out th9, and I also have to pay for my army. People act like elixer isnt important sometimes, but when you need it for an upgrade, it can be a very slow process. I am forced into the cheapest army I know (archers, barbs, gobs, and wbs) so I can gain elixer faster. This to me is the biggest frustration of the loot penalty. I don't look forward to getting the elixer I need for TH9 upgrades, as one upgrade may take me a week or more to farm. The reason is, I will need a tougher army for the tougher bases. I will be forced to use at least giants to tank, cutting further into my elixer profit.
About to break forum rules, but........
Do you just like to see your moronic thoughts in print or you just an idiot? How in the world does tapping the next button, endless times, have anything to do with skill at this game? How can it be anyones fault if other players spend their loot, there by offering less to those who come across them? Speaking from a TH7, you have absolutely no idea how it is at higher TH levels, so keep your trap shut if you aren't informed on what you speak of....
Warn me, ban me, completely remove me for this, what ever. Sorry, I'm just tired of this guy and others like him who troll posts with their condescending, useless, unproductive attitudes.
I know, I'm feeding the troll, maybe it's a little humble pie.
That seems odd. What trophy level are you at? I could see that if you were really high up there, but I sit at the 1600-1800 range now and there is elixir everywhere. Yes I think you'll find adding giants to your army will help. My army costs about 90k elixir, but my average attack is considerably less than that because I don't always deploy the giants (8) or all of the wall breakers (15). To be honest my gold search costs are probably pretty close to my elixir per raid costs.
Loot is by all means not fine. It was reduced across the board during the last update and that cant be disputed. I am playing in the same 1200-1400 range and raiding just as many times per day, and I can tell you with accuracy that I am using the "next" button a ton more than I did before due to many bases not having over 80k loot.
Before the update, I also came across 2-3 bases per day that had over 200k (not th9 bases, but bases that are actually raid able). Since the update, if I see ONE base per day with over 120k I feel like I absolutely hit the jackpot. I may have seen one or two TOTAL since the update with over 200k (that isn't a th9 with two xbows etc).
It's not imaginary. Loot was reduced, and I'm fairly certain something was changed on the back end concerning inactive bases (which was also an effort to take loot out of the game).
Edit: my post relates to gold specifically. I see bases with elixir more frequently but don't need it, so I don't raid them. Still noticeably not as many as before the update, though. I'm th8 for the record.
✔ The percentage of loot that can be stolen from Gold Storage and Elixir Storage was decreased to make it easier for newer players to save up resources. The maximum possible amount of loot remains the same.
http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...rsion-3-124%29
Correct, meaning there is still something that has caused the number of inactive bases to go down drastically as well. I feel like somehow the league system has something to so with it... Maybe they've put a "timer" on how long a person can go without joining a league before they are removed from the base raiding queue? I may be off base here because that would give an unfair advantage to people who don't raid and depend on collectors, but something is definitely going on...
I'm not sure what you mean by "elixer is everywhere". Sure every base I attack at least has some elixer. I sit at the same trophy range. I try not to use giants to save elixer, when I'm elixer farming. But yes, farming elixer has been a much slower grind. After factoring in army costs i maybe average 60k per raid which is much less than before. I pray for abandoned bases to offset that average. I mean i do get the occasional 200k + elixer raid. Note: I try not to use spells when I farm because it further cuts into my profits further keeping me from my goals.
I honestly don't see what the problem is with increasing the production rates of Mines and Collectors. More loot, more resources, more elixir to cook more high level troops making trophy chasing a viable option and more fun all round. Increase the % of loot based on trophies. Someone with 3000 trophies is spending upwards of 400k a raid. Their max win of elixir is 200 and that's if they get them all, it's just stupid and impossible to play without spending gems up there. They put a league in play and even at max level it's what 100k extra per win? That still doesn't cover the amount they spent to make their troops. People say this game is free you can play it for free but not the way they intend you to play. If you could chase trophies as well as make enough resources to upgrade everything more high levels would head on up.
More resources, more fun. It's pretty simple.
I don't see any problem with increasing production rates of mines and collectors considering the insane costs for upgrades at TH9. I've seen this requested forever, yet the first "increase" we get is worthless in the form of the current league bonuses, and even that is more than completely depleted by the storage penalty that came along with it.
They need to understand that even with additional resources in the game, everyone is still limited by the time it takes to upgrade high end items. Most people who play the game seriously ALWAYS make sure they have enough resources to upgrade the next thing once their builders are finished, and all these changes are actually doing is forcing these players to play more and more hours per day to meet these goals when the time requirement to do so was already extremely taxing. This is what causes resentment among players toward Supercell because they refuse to just bite the bullet and admit that the players are right. Until the decide to change the way they do things, they will continue to get the same feedback as they always have. Either way they are going to make money, I just assumed they would care enough not to feed the "greedy Supercell" comments that flood the game and forums. In all my years of gaming I have never seen such a strong player sentiment against a company in such a manner, and the reason is because every action Supercell takes concerning the game is blatantly feeding these comments rather than trying to prove them wrong.
I think SuperCell kind of shot themselves in the foot with this last update. Some of the stuff like reduced build and upgrade times and the fix to splash targeting was great, and the golem seems to be a pretty good unit, but for all the hype about leagues they don't actually do anything, they could have just handed out a win bonus based on trophies and never bothered coding leagues at all.
But the decrease in raidable loot, and the seeming reduction in the availability of old bases with full collectors is what really annoyed a lot of people, there may be a few people saying the loot is just fine, but I don't think one single person has yet come out and actually said that they think those changes are a good thing. When the biggest effect of your update is something that gets reactions on a scale from don't care to hate it you are doing something wrong.
You know, I'm getting really annoyed and agitated, young players in this game, should jolly well listen up and listen good, the league system has only been implemented in ONE single update, do you know that means? It means it's version 0.1, it's definitely still in alpha stage, give the system time to improve and develop, we all know ourselves the system has potential, that's the biggest thing here, not the small loot, you can't start off giving big rewards and then realise is a wrong mistake, you start off small and adjust it better, there is nothing wrong with Supercell here, the young fanbase in this game really need to grow up and get out of the sliver spoon mentality, stop embarassing yourselves.
It's sickening, at the end of the day, it isn't you who are feeding the salaries of the staff anyway. Yes I said it, it's frustrating sometimes, seeing the forum ridden with people like you, please understand and sympathise that it's a business after all, you don't have to spend a single cent on the game.
You are absolutely correct. for those of us that have been playing for almost a year and spent money, it is ridiculous how they keep constantly changing the "rules" that we play by. I remember the days of farming the single player missions, or farming at zero trophies getting 3-6M loot per hour. But update after update they keep lowering the loot to force us to buy gems. I used to buy gems to speed up buildings, now I refuse to buy any more gems.
This has definitely been the most expensive "free" game I have ever played. Funny how my second account that I started about 3 months after my main and only spent gems for the 5th builder has almost caught up with the one I spent a lot of $$$$.
You mean version 1.0. I'm not sure if you're aware but they're also making a reported 2.4 million a day with both games on the App Store.
http://www.pocketgamer.biz/r/PG.Biz/...ws.asp?c=50169
You're TH8 so you honestly have no idea what we are talking about here.
I wouldn't call it a 1.0, like everybody said, the loot can be improved, so it definitely is an alpha stage, a 0.1
I indicated that I'm TH8, I could remove it too, what does it matter? Is that all you can say in your defence?
TH9 got all the upgrades from TH8 along with 2 xbows, 1 additional anti-air and wizard tower, if you have played the game right, upgrading 90% percent of everything in TH8, you should be prepared to be the biggest bully in the game, the one with shimmering black and purple towers, and preparing to raid TH8s with level 6s. I saw your base, you are pretty souped up, at 1462 trophies, what do you expect to farm there?
A TH9 here has said before that loots are still there at 1600-1800, can't remember exactly, it depends on the trophy range and the willingness to search a little more. If you can't find any loots, increase your trophy count, gosh a TH8 teaching a TH9, since you like to mention my TH level.
The length it takes is outrageous. If you haven't noticed, this game doesn't have near the "depth" of playability of an MMO, yet it takes MUCH longer to "beat it". The difference here is that this game isn't long because of ample content that you achieve along the way, it is long for the sake of being long in hopes that you'll spend money to speed it up, and for no other reason whatsoever.
This game is designed to be long, I enjoyed the journey farming, the delayed gratification received seeing your base with black walls is just, satisfying, if its easy, everybody would be at the same level as you and that would take the joy away.
What would you expect to get from beating the game when it is all about the journey.
The problem is that the company is so completely out of touch with their own game that they are just generating content for the sake of having new content. They don't care whether it works properly, makes sense, solves the problems it was set out to, unbalances the game, or adds anything useful to the game. They know that when they update, people spend, therefore they update as quickly as possible.
Compare this mindset to basically any reputable gaming company in the industry. Updates are well thought out. Bug fixes take precedent over new content, because if the old stuff isn't working then what's the point of adding new stuff? Updates actually continually tweak the game to be more balanced rather than making small "bandaid" fixes that throw things further out of w♥♥♥♥ ( ie, more walls at th7 to compensate for the last wall breaker tweak, another air defense and wizard tower at th9 instead of weakening dragons slightly to offset their splash damage, thus making healers and minions completely worthless, the list goes on and on)
The problems here are those of an alpha game, yet alpha games do not make money off players testing their features. Half of their problem is that they don't understand the problems they are trying to fix, and the other half is that they don't test things properly before they implement them. There's really very little that they actually do in a reasonable manner that should warrant their insane amount of income. A good business model is no substitute for actually giving a ♥♥♥♥ about your customers, but apparently they think it is.
I'm not saying it can't be long, but when it is already the longest game in history and they keep stretching it out further and further for no apparent reason, it makes you wonder what is the point of even playing a game that you can never complete. It would be one thing if the length was increasing because of new features or content, but for them to purposely slow down loot gain for no apparent reason when it ALREADY takes over a year to max a base is just asinine.
Clash of Clans is one of the few games that has everything that can bought solely with game credits, the option to speed up buildings is the way for them to earn money and also in keeping the game free, Flammmy said this before, we should thank the gemmers because they're the one keeping the game free for us.
@ Calamity (chrome breaks if I try to reply with quote), it is not just that leagues don't do anything that could not be just as easily accomplished without them, but that it is not even possible to use leagues for anything without allowing absurd exploits. The bonus is really based on trophies and doesn't really need leagues to work, but any attempt to give some kind of reward for being the top of your league would result in either giving the rewards to some random person who managed to get xx99 trophies without accidentally going over, or keeping people in leagues for the full two weeks would result either in people boosting trophies at the start of the season to get the win bonus against very weak opponents at far lower trophy levels or TH9s dropping to 400 at the start and then zooming upwards over 2000 to win any gems given out to the top players at the end of the season. I have spent a fair bit of time thinking about leagues, and I cannot come up with any way to make use of them at all.
To be honest, if I get to complete this game with max towers and walls, I probably spent less time on it or even partially quit, while trophy hunting is fun, it takes time build a strong army, while my 24 mins army can raid and provide me the resources to upgrade my buildings. It's not about beating the game at all, there's nothing much at the end of the rainbow, but it is in watching your village grow.
Yet if they told any single player at the beginning that the game has a perceived ending ( which will forever be unattainable), no one would play it. Most people start a strategy game that is "level based" with some expectation of eventually getting to the end. It was hard enough to do that before, yet it keeps getting harder and harder for no reason.
lol i regret upgrading to TH8, now what i saw in silver is all 10k-50k.
i think supercell wanted us to play passively (wait for resources / buy resources)
well, please check my usage of gems, it is only for builders and to insta-finish building.
now this game is getting boring for raiders.
I, for one, wouldn't mind if this game went on forever by the addition of new items. Continual renewal of game goals isn't a bad thing. I only realized this once I understood that I will never be at the top unless I spend, spend, spend. This didnt take long to realize either, seeing the top players, hours ofter one of the first updates, have fully upgraded new items. This, most likely closed my wallet for good, because I saw that the gap between habitual gemmers and the moderate spender was going to expand rapidly. Once players come to grips with this, the game becomes enjoyable, though with the usual frustrations. SC will keep my interest with new updated/items, and eventually I will get them.
You are right about nothing at the end of the rainbow. Of my two villages, I've had the most fun with the one that I have farmed since last September. My other account has maxed defenses (gemmed), and at one point I didn't even play it for months (at one point I was even ranked #60 in the world)
You don't sound mature at all. Everyone who plays is a customer and therefore are feeding the salaries of the staff, regardless of how much they spend. Yes, it's a business's, therefore its their job to try to give good customer satisfaction. Are you just going to belittle and ignore a certain group because their opinions are different, wait aren't you more matured? You are embarrassing yourself with these claims. Most people are not asking to get rid of the leagues anyways, so save your defense because without feedbacks the game can't improve or should we all wait 3 or 4 updates later to voice our opinion... I mean when is the correct time? 1 year? Lol
I perfectly agree with this.
I'm also a gemmer player, but IF supercell thinks that their (ultra long time upgrade), (expensive upgrade costs), (high loot penalties) are to force people to buy gems, that's a big mistake.
I can't play without looting non-gemmer player cause they used to build resources to max.
And if all of them stop playing (stuck in 0-1200 rating with low TH level), then the only left in high level league is people like me.
Sorry for bad english.
I would hope that they consider everyone playing as a customer, the gemmer and the non alike. For every kid and or addolescent adult who spends zero on this game, I would venture to say that they tell numerous friends about CoC. With every friend who downloads the app comes potential revenue. This, I'm sure is a very lucrative cycle for SC. For the simple reason of free advertising, I would think that there is no favored group of players in the community. Why tell your friends to play a game that only caters to those who spend? So again, I hope they consider every player a customer.
Greeting pariah of the young fanbase, one year for a perfected league system is long? Aren't you educated in schools with academic years? And no, I did not specifally state that it is going to take a year and that I would hopelessly wait for it to go beyond my expectations, in case another kid tries to do me on that one.
And did I mention anything about getting rid of the system? I'm saying the league system is the big step forward, but it takes time to tweak the loot, you can't give out high or good amounts right away, you have to adjust it and balance it out, of course they want to keep the customers and cheapos happy, they also have to feed the staffs and keep the company running.
Yeah, my defense here is that you don't have to repeat like a broken recorder to get the message across, there are people that have explained it better and I'm sure the messages are not ignored and forgotten. The league system has been suggested long ago and it has finally been implemented. Also threatening not to buy gems is such a childish attempt, not saying that it is you, but reading from your tone, you does sound like one.
You really should stop insulting everyone in every post. If you were born in 1993 as your username suggests, you're only about 20 so you are technically part of this "young fanbase" as you like to call it. This topic was regarding the available loots, not the league system. Surely you're educated enough to understand what the term "Loot" refers to.
You may think that, but Supercell doesn't. They have made it clear they want people going after trophies. I don't know what you mean by "catering to a group" but they want people to buy gems, and will aggressively pursue ways to make that happen. They do not want people farming, and will not pursue ways to make farming easier.
Boycotting businesses or services has actually been a successful strategy for customers to get the attention of corporations for varying reasons for quite a while. It's not childish at all considering in this case the company goes out of its way every update to hype up their new content, yet it always boils down to a new way to gouge people instead of improving the game.
Also, it doesn't take a lot of research for them to figure out that the vast majority of players at th7+ is making anywhere from 1-4 million in resources per day, so the fact that their starting "bonus" for this range is around 2500 per win does not say much for their knowledge of their own game. When you consider that this bonus was closer to 20k during their "sneak peek", its clear they they made a conscious decision to lower it to that point before submitting the update, and the amount they chose to lower it to completely negated the entire purpose they had for the league system (to give trophies meaning).
It would actually be nice to have stuff put into the game that functions properly to begin with... With all the time they've put in to adding dark troops to the game, there isn't a single one that is worth using if your purpose is to raid for loot. I'm not convinced they are worthwhile for trophy hunting either, but I have no experience to back that up... Just an observation.
Also, a company depends on customers for income. If they are not focused on customer satisfaction, they won't be in business very long. Surely they have enough common sense to realize that. Call it an opinion if you want, but its a pretty basic principle of successful business.
Heya Shady,
While much of what you have said in the above post and in this thread in general resonates with me, I rarely take the time to punch it all out on account of several factors:
1) It falls on deaf ears.
First, people who in their nature can't see past their own arguments to agree and give credence to anything expressing a contrary point of view or counter-narrative, regardless of how well-stated and logical your argument may be.
Second, fanboys will be fanboys. There is just no arguing with a "everything is cotton candy clouds and lemon drops" mentality.
Third, SC pays little mind to what we have to say. It's their game, and there are very few examples where community outcry over any aspect of the game has directly resulted in SC changing the game in any way that they didn't intend. I'll cite the overwhelming support for the reimplementation of player levels as an example.
2) Critical thought easily gets confused for whining. And with it my least favorite thing about the forums - other members' arrogant dismissal of other people's opinions and their oh so trendy battle cry, "leave your ♥♥♥♥ outside of your base."
3) The forum is for gamers. CoC is NOT. And this is only half right, since there are a number of people posting on this forum who have been introduced to the gaming world through CoC. My main point here being that the way you think a gaming company ought to act (i.e. bug fixes before rolling out new content) is the way of serious gaming companies that makes games for serious gamers. We are in the minority here my friend, and I have only recently come to this conclusion. For this reason, I've stop wasting my breath after the latest update. But that is me. I'm writing to share my recent realization with you. I don't want it to discourage you from doing your thing, but just to say that there are just some people not worth arguing with.
Everyone and their dog is playing this game and serious gamers playing it are in the minority. It is genius really, and will hopefully get people hooked on games to the point where they start to crave more. Meaning, other gaming companies will benefit from the current explosion of games on handheld devices and we gamers will reap the benefits as newer platforms and games are produced. The opposite could also happen, but I'm an eternal optimist when it comes to gaming. Heck, my grandfather played Wii over the holidays with my teenage sister, and he is in no way the gaming type :p
So, you say that it would be unbelievable/impossible for supercell to start off giving a big reward and work down from there? Isn't that what they've been doing since, oh I don't know, the game came out? Examples, just off the top of my head, are single player mission refilling, elixir glitch, and they've consistently worked the loot percentage down. So I'm not sure exactly what u meant there.
Also, in a business sense, if my deliverable to a client in real life is incomplete or a .001 version I have no doubt that I'd be fired. It's simply bad business for a company to consistently treat customers like beta testers. I think that's what has everybody angry at this point. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
It isn't a big stretch of the imagination to think maybe SC wants to take on a new approach of starting the bonuses low and then increasing them.
For somebody who has been "consistently treated like a beta tester" you sure do like coming back for more.
Maybe you think CoC is the best game in the market and in reality you can't help but play it every day?
Like what I said to another forummer, you can call it phase one, whatever it is, it is at stage one, Supercell will tweak it better, after all, it is supposed to help gain a leverage to increase trophies and earn loot at the same time. This is a free to play game, like any other free MMORPG out there, the game is always updating and it takes time for it to be adjusted, if it takes too long, then it our voice to complain.
The loot is still the same, you just get lesser from weaker bases, you still get the same from uncollected bases.
I know this, I raided many.
Lol I'm wondering supercell staff read this thread, smile, and then just close the browser.
Sometimes I'm sad being addicted to this game.
I thought the very same thing when I read calamity1993's response, but am thinking/hoping that SC will increase the loot bonuses in future updates.
As for being beta testers, I have to agree. The maintenance breaks and updates are not simply adding new features, fixing bugs, and making minor tweaks. I can't think of any games outside of the smartphone gaming market where I felt so much like a beta tester. But there honestly isn't a better game I know of at the moment that I can play on my phone or tablet, so not going anywhere anytime soon
Thats not it at all. I dont care to debate with a person who contradicts themselves for the sake of arguement. To tell an earlier poster, "Attributing the same attitude to supercell is an assumption", meaning his attitude, and then telling me, "You may think that way, SC doesnt", leading me to believe that your opinions about SC's buisness model are correct, in your mind, and there's no point in the conversation, in my mind. Hence, "LoL, wow, just nevermind".
By your miss quotes of me, I can see you didn't fully read and or comprehend what I said. Maybe you should read it again.
