Here's the replay I promised. Using Tier 1 and Tier 2 troops against a TH10 with Infernos. If you're focused on a specific attack you can make it work. In this case grabbing a little over 3K dark elixer and making enough purple elixer to just about break even on troops and spells. Enjoy!

when i first heard about this method, i was extremely excited to test it out. So, half an hour later i was sitting at 198 trophies after dropping from just over 2000. my first quick match search showed some huge loot bases but i only had a few goblins so i couldn't attack. so i started to train my troops then nipped of to grab a bit to eat. however when i got back after 2 minutes, i had been raided FOUR times. in 2 minutes. i was back up to just over 300 trophies without even getting a good raid in. i was feeling grumpy so i went off to bed and when i woke up i was at 850 trophies!!!! what im trying to say that this a very demanding type of farming that requires absolute dedication . i did see some huge loot but i think it is to much effort to spend half an hour every morning toi get down to 200 trophies just for 1 or 2 raids before i have to go off to school!
This is not really the point of sub 200 farming. As people have said original sub 200 was about raiding bad bases with gobs for very little individual loot but doing it so much that it added up. What you are describing is just normal raiding which can be done at higher trophy levels without the hassle of constantly needing to keep your trophies down.
Also what you said about starting the game with 200 trophies is also incorrect as you start with none. Trophies are generated at the sub 1000 trophy level because when you win a battle the defender loses less trophies than you gain.
If you are having success raiding here as you are doing then good luck to you but if this is what sub 200 has become then it has really ceased to exist as the phenomenon it once was.
Did you miss the part in my original post where I said it's hard to stay below 200 trophies? I warned everyone that it takes commitment and longer raiding sessions for this to make sense. The second you log off you'll jump trophies because others are dropping below 200.Quote:

So some of what you say is true, but it certainly doesn't take 30 minutes to drop below 200. I wouldn't have kept doing it for this long if it was that big of a pain.
I also said in my original post that it's not collectors, but storages that have all the loot. Therefore you'd need a bigger raiding army. Strange that you'd spend all that time dropping from 2000 trophies and didn't train an army while you were dropping. I never said you'd be able to raid with a few gobs.
I posted with the intent that people wouldn't run off and try it without reading all the content. That's kind of the point of someone learning a strategy and sharing it. If you don't follow the outline then you won't have the same experience I have had.
I'm still there, 12 days later. I've been playing this game for almost a year and never seen this much loot this easy to find at any trophy level. But I'm glad others are struggling with the strategy - just more loot for me!
You are right about the 200 trophy thing. It's been so long since I started the game I forgot we all start at zero. I assumed it was the case because once I go below 200 trophies, I have never once seen a base lower than TH7.Quote:

I've averaged 5M gold, 6M elixer, and 25K dark elixer per day while being below 200. I've only done boosted raids twice. Otherwise it's just a typical 2-3 raids per hour when my army is ready.

What army composition would you recommend for a th8 without the AQ?
Intriguing to say the least, it may be worth a try sometime, i will definately point some of my clanmates this way.

You will find a ton of TH7's with full storages below 200. I don't attack them because the loot penalty for TH9 attacking TH7 makes it not worth it.Quote:

With 200 supply cap I'd go with:
8 giants
10 wbs
70 barbs
70 archers
Total cost = 71,000 elixer. Cook time with 4 barracks is going to be around 14 minutes I think. Four attacks per hour.
The only difference with my TH9 army is I have 80 barbs and 80 archers. I also keep my spell factory filled with lightning to take out a splash defense if necessary. Usually a mortar on the opposite side of where I'm attacking is troublesome when my barbs/archers move into the middle. I will only use this tactic when the loot is particularly good - for me that means at least 400K total elixer and gold, and around 1000-1500 DE. Zap a mortar or wiz tower with two lightning. Remember this adds 44K elixer to your costs so only do it on bases that make sense.
Try to conserve wall breakers - only use as many as you need. I often get away with 4-6. I bring 10 just in case a base has great loot in a lot of compartments. I also conserve archers and barbs. Sometimes I only use 20-30 of each, depending on how deep the storages are. Same goes for giants. I come across a lot of bases that have lvl1 or lvl2 defenses. In that case try getting away with four giants.
Remember every troop you don't use is a little more profit on the raid. Don't just spam troops and hope for the best - plan out the attack quickly and try to guess how many you're going to need. Send in more if it looks like it's not going to be enough.
How many th9 and 10s are you seeing down there? Is it enough to make it worth the time to drop down to sub 200?
Shouldn't there be lots of inactives down there? Where have they gone? They're so much less common than they used to be. My theory is SC takes them off the "raidable bases" list after two weeks of not logging on.. Any one have a similar conclusion?
