I find it harder to find great sales in the ad anymore. You used to find them everywhere and lately just none. like 10 soybeans for 30 or 10 carrot for 20 ... I just can't find those farmers anymore. The game has slowed down for me.

I guess its just luck as I feel (unlike almost everyone else in this forum) that the newspaper ads have improved for me as I'm always finding cheap produce quickly and easily.
I can guarantee most people will disagree with me :D
I do agree with you however that the game has slowed down A LOT, it's taking weeks to level up and I'm only on level 40...
Isn't the players, who decides what is put up for sale in their RSS?
If what you call good sales are not around as much as earlier, who is responsible for fixing that problem?
I always have to wade through a LOT of wheat and eggs to find the random BEM or LEM....or fruit. I am always happy to find some berries or cherries for sale!
Shopping for cheap items would slow down the game for me.
Its true that I don't shop for much, still grow and produce pretty much everything I can.
When I do go shopping it's for things like goats milk, chili peppers, pumpkins price is my last concern. IM just glad to find it. And those occasional boxes of expansion items I am needing are just happy little bonuses.
If you're looking for cheap corn I always sell it in my shop at default. You have to be pretty quick though because once it's advertised it doesn't stay around for long.
Trading has ruined the DD. I have always said this. The DD was the backbone of this game and now the neighbourhood and trading has ruined it. Take away trading and the ability to sell secretly to those in neighbourhoods and the DD will spring back to life....
Sorry, no way I can agree with you on that. Players can choose what is best for them, and instead of using the word trading, you can change it to - helping each other get forward. My barn would not be at 4.500 and silo at 2.800 without the big bad trading. It's only good, that much of it have mooved away from the forum, and in to the games NHs, at least in my opinion. There was way to many bad things going on in that tradingthread fleamarket with naming and shaming, because to many take things to serious. It's all a matter of opinion and my opinion is, that players are much better of trading/helping each other, it simply just works better. It's a choice and all choices have consequense, in this case the consequense is the major change is, that it's harder to find EMs in the DD, but that also give less of a market for some using bots, to get an advantage.
So good job SC for making the NHs, players can choose to see it as a bad thing, that have ruined the DD, or as a good helpfull way to make a new DD for EMs. Just to bad, there's only room for 30 members in the NHs. Room for 50-100 members would make it easier for some of us, to bring in more lower levels we could give a helping hand, but we will just find a way, to make more NHs work together as one.
In life and in this game, you have to accept what you can't change. And trading is here to stay, one way or the other, because it has been invented by players, simply because it works better. It is was it is.
But the point being made was that trading has affected the DD.
That seems logical to me. If players are swapping goods privately or doing their best not to advertise in the DD so that their neighbours can have first choice, then of course that affects the DD!
If people are saving their produce to swap on trading threads, or buying items in bulk to amass them for a trade, then of course that affects the DD! The extra strain on the supply from buyers and the lack of selling means it is getting squeezed from both ends.
I don't know how the paper and market could be made more fruitful because stalls that put out a fabulous array of interesting merchandise get bought up so quickly that most people never even see the the items, except maybe in grey. And because of that, when a shopper sees anything good the reflex action is to snap it up whether it is needed or not, so it is a vicious circle. Some people seem to buy things just so they can sell them on to their neighbours to help the NH, so even in indirect ways then the NH is affecting the DD. Just a fact.
But wasn't it always like that? Before neighborhoods, people would try to sell to their GC friends first. I remember people griping about how they didn't like the ad box being checked by default, because they never advertised so their friends could get the stuff first. Long before neighborhoods existed.
Basically, it's built into Hay Day. You can play without friends, but it's harder. (As one of the early Android players, unable to access GC, I was painfully aware of this.)
Also, I wonder how much of it is the industrial h@ckers. For a short while after they closed the newspaper refresh hole, the DD was a lot better. It didn't last. I suspect the people using bots to automatically siphon all the good stuff out of the newspaper feed found a new way to do it.
Of course the trading had affected the DD. We live in a world, and game is part of that world, that changes all the time, and people have to accept things they can't change and make the best of it, or try to change it. Just a fact to.
Of course it's harder to accept changes, that feel like things get harder, but it is what it is.
It can also have a negative on SCs earnings, if the result is that fewer use diamonds to buy the missing EMs. What do they do about it? Open game for android, could be one answer, as it give new players/customers.
Janilee, think you are right, and things bullseye! It was pretty much always like that, it has just been growing, and the NHs can be a good way to kill the bad things going on in the forumtrading.
Is is it all fair as it is? Not really, because many players probably still dont know about the possibilty of trading. NHs can be good for that to, as trading is not likely ever being a natural part of the game, even though that would be the way to give all players access to it, and making it more fair and a real market. Just not much good business in that, and it would most likely also be to much for the game to handle.
If there's still bots around, is SCs job to find out and take care of. I for one never used the newspaper refresh hole, didn't even know it existed, and was laughing big time seeing all the crybabys, that didn't like that the refresh hole got closed.
A part of human nature is being selfish, and some are more selfish than others, like the ones behind using bots and such, and I am defenitely not one of the most selfish people around, and have gotten so many positive reactions from players I have helped in different ways over time, that I feel fine with that.
Everything in life and HD is a matter of choices and opinions, and we can't all agree on everything, like it or not.
