Trying to be a successful leader

Hey guys I'm the leader of my clan and all i want is for us to be successful. We war once a week, trophy push the 1st week of each month and the donation minimum to be considered "active" is 100 per season. I read somewhere on the web that co-leaders should be the most active members so my co-leaders all have specific jobs in the clan and i want my elders to be fairly active members, whose duty is to recruit new members. There's no specific way to be promoted if someone's doing all the right things without being asked to (donating, using both attacks in war, responding to what an email is asking, recruiting, etc...) they'll get promoted. I guess what i wanna know is: am i doing anything wrong or being too stern or mean? I ask this because we end up having members leave because they aren't living up to their promotions and being demoted or just aren't doing the things a good clan member should do get called out about it and split. Your input would be greatly appreciated! Sorry for the long post lol

If you want to build a good strong clan you need good ppl... people who ask for elder or Co as soon as they join or a week after they join arent good enough... In my clan we dont promote to Elder unless he is donating good,active, does both the war attacks, helps others etc etc like any other clan... but we take time to promote - 3 weeks atleast i would say... this is to demostrate consistency and loyalty to the clan...

For Co you have to be really careful who you are promoting... they really have the power to destroy your clan.. so watchout whom you want to promote to Co... we have only 2 Cos in our clan...

We havent really demoted a lot of ppl... i think i can we have demoted only 2-3 elder til date and 2 of our elders went inactive so we assumed they quit the game and kicked them..

so dont promote too soon...wait till they are consistent and then you wont need to demote them..

I'm asking if im in the wrong for expecting these things from the members who hold rank? If you think so just tell me what you think i should change.

If you promote someone and then later demote them, they'll feel punished and are likely to leave. I'd reserve co-leader for your two most loyal members. Elder is effectively redundant now tbh. For example, we give it to anyone who's been in the clan for 3 months. Perhaps one month is more appropriate for a new clan.

In summary, if you have ANY doubts, don't promote as, chances are, anyone you demote will leave.

I would say you are a bit stern. For me donating and using both attacks in war is good enough. They should also be active in the chat. You need to realise that most people play the game for fun and have a life outside the game. They probably play other games too. So demoting members because they are not doing what you are asking them to do is a bit unfair. They would definitely feel bad and leave. Just relax and have fun :D

Thx for the input guys I'll try to loosen up but here's what happened : one of my coleaders whose been in the clan for at lest 4 months left the clan with his son. The only thing i really ask of elders is to recruit new members as i think of donating and participating in war as what every member is supposed to do. I think this because upon joining i ask new members to read the clan description and both of those things are stated in it so upon joining i think of it as them agreeing to do this. The co leader promoted his son before his son had achieved anything stating that he would endup earning it but wasn't doing the one thing elders are supposed to do:recruit so i demoted his son and a couple other elders for the time being until we could talk. After that both of them left. You guys think i was in the wrong for that? Because when its only me and 2 co-leaders recruiting its hard to find new members and i want us to grow i don't give out positions just on a whim, each person who holds rank should be an example of how members should be. Thats just how i think :)

You were dead right to do that and you're better off without someone who promotes his kid anyway.

I guess you did the right thing in this case. I probably would have demoted the father too.
But I would suggest you refrain from demoting members that are really active but are not interested much in recruiting. It would be loss to you if they leave. There is no use recruiting new members if you are unable to retain the good ones that join.
