When is Wizard better?
Hi
I am trying to figure out when the wizard is better to use vs cheaper troops like barb or arch.
Obvious consideration is the tradeoff between higher HP/DPS vs Space and Time to train and cost of course.
At TH7 I have yet to find it useful for much other than experimenting, in all cases so far I find barch cheaper / faster / just as effective.

wizard just hits hard and does splash damage to take care of cc troops

I'd say at TH8, when you can upgrade them to 5. They get their largest DPS boost then. I still generally use barbs/archers/goblins for quick raids, but when I want to hit hard (to get at someone's DE, say) I'll take a few fireball-slinging buddies along.

Wizards when u want to smash through stuff and reach the core.
Barch when you want to reach storages on weak bases or collector raids on high bases or just for th sniping.

I just use Wizards at CW. Never used em' for farming purposes because it takes too much time to cook 1 wizard :eek: I use BAM or sometimes barch specially when I need elixir. :cool:

Wizards are best to use if you are using Giants in your army composition. They support Giants better than no other troop (Except Healer). Best army composition to use is to go for GiWiHe. On TH 7s, it's sure to give you a minimum of 2 stars. Apart from that, 3-4 wizards can easily wipe out all those CC troops unless it's a high HP unit.

I have found wizards are useful if you have to get to the core of the base. I have level 5 archers and they get one shot by level 6 mortars, and as I push in, the archers group together. Just a few wizards, I take 3-5, live long enough to get some of those goodies in the core.

Wizards are good at all levels. It's all about how you use them. You need to make sure you have giants in front of the wizards to help keep them alive.

Wizards+Barbs or giants is great in defense. In attacking, it depends who you want to attack. If you are farming, use archers. For dark farming, use wizards. For pushing, use wizards. Just make sure they have a meat shield, or they will die. A healer or healing spell can also suffice.
