Why can people loot so much from Dark Elixir Drill than the regular gold and elixir?

Dude this is complete ♥♥. Just lost 1.7 Dark Elixir just from 8 hours of drilling? You can barely get any resource from the gold and elixir collectors from 8 hours of collecting. Complete ♥♥.

Here's the calculation for all the people that think it's just my fault that I don't collect from the drills.

100 x 8 hour = 800 Dark Elixir x 3 Dark Elixir Drill = 2400 Dark Elixir and the guy takes 1.7 Dark Elixir. How is that reasonable. 70% was taken away from the Drills? ♥♥♥. Do some math before you think it's just my fault.

It would be more reasonable if it's around 25 to 40 percent.

Better questions might be, why had it been more than 8 hours since you logged on and collected resources? I dont play all day long, but I will log on regularly and collect resources if Im not under a shield so I dont get my collectors raided.

Depends what level you are really. I used to feel the same as you, certainly as a th8. Now as a th10 if I was to be wiped out, I would be much more bothered about the loss of Gold or elixir. I only offer up around 2-2.5k de to attackers, regardless of how much de I have, this is a very small percentage compared to the 400k gold I could lose out of 3-4 million in my storages.

GCB's top tips:

1) Keep your th outside your base

2) Regularly collect from collectors when you have no shield

3) Always get a fresh shield for going to bed, even if this means breaking a shield with 8 hours left. You are much, much, much more likely to get th sniped with empty collectors than shield ending half way through the night with plump collectors and then potentially getting raided multiple times with sprung cc & traps.

You see, I didn't know that the % were different:


Mines/Collectors: The percentage of Gold/Elixir that can be stolen from mines/collectors is 50% and is capped only by the storage capacity of the mine/collector.

Drills: The percentage of Dark Elixir that can be stolen from drills is 75% and is capped only by the storage capacity of the drill.

75% looks like quite a lot indeed.

It happened only twice in the last 6 months that I was raided before I emptied my drill. With my 3 drills, that is quite a lot of DE I lost those 2 times.

Throw townhall outside while you sleep, catch a shield, and sleep soundly my friend...it's the most valuable resource and must be treated as such by all parties

Let's say it's a Town Hall 8 or 9 attacking a Town Hall 10. You can probably take only around 50k or gold and elixir from 8 hours of not collecting, but then they loot an unimaginable amount of Dark Elixir from the drills. ♥♥♥.

I break my shield on purpose and do 1 attack before I go to sleep to minimize losses from the collectors building up and also potential losses from storage raids

Do 1 raid to get about 200k gold/elixir/both with DE if lucky, collect from collectors, and then go sleep

Maybe you should put your town hall outside your base, break any shield you have before bed, and I can say with near certainty you will be attacked within an hour. Then you'll have a twelve hour shield that will still be on once you wAke up. Ever used logic?

Either way if I get shield or not, you lose more from the Dark Elixir Drills than the regular gold mine and elixir collector. By the time I get back on the game, I probably just collect 25% of what is left. Which is complete stupid.

Actually I always break shield every time I go to sleep, but I just felt too tired that certain day and forgot to do so.

Yes this is true. The amount that can be looted from three full max lvl de drills is pretty astounding if you are lucky enough to do so.

But try working on this philosophy:

"I cannot have a shield 100% of the time. But I can have empty collectors 100% of the time I don't have a shield."

Taking 1K of Dark Elixir from three full maxed out Dark Elixir Drill is more reasonable to lose 1.7K when it's not even full yet.

Not really. As the DE drill holds a lot less than the mines and pumps it makes sense to have it as a higher % so people can steal a reasonable amount. And its completely your fault you got collector farmed imo.

Edit: 1k de from 3 maxed drills, that's actually nothing. And anyway 1.7k de will be recouped by your collectors in 4 hours at the most.

Supercell changed some things on the game because the community requested for it, and tweaks were put in the past so I don't see why it can't be change in this situation.

Having a high percentage available from collectors is a way of pushing activity. I think it is a good idea. I think people who spend more time playing should have an advantage over those who aren't as bothered. I think it also dissuades people from relying solely on collectors and mines as their source of income.

For me the game is about strategy and taking on other human opponents to battle for goodies. If I wanted to just let my base sit there and earn resources tapping collectors, I would be the kind of person wanting to re-install Simpsons Tapped Out! ...which I certainly am not.

I think the % is fine for collectors, but it's all opinion.

I get at least 200 attack wins per session, but collecting resource from my collectors is still a vital income.

Agreed with above. Honestly if they lower the amount people can steal from collectors people will complain about a lack of loot.

Because you do not represent the community, and so far I only see you alone complain about this particular issue. You get tired one day and forgot or didn't care to plan a shield ahead of sleep then complain about it being ridiculous. No, it's not. It's totally manageable (and if you don't, you deserve to be raided big time). It's not even hard to plan a shield and avoid drill overflow. So, if someone come across inactive base like yours, it's all-you-can-eat buffet. Get over it.

How is my base inactive? I'm probably more active than you. Doesn't matter if I didn't log in for 8 hours or not. I have a life and 70% from the drills is ridiculous. Let me see how well developed your premature base is please. What is the point of the game if everyone just go for collectors and mass farm? And my drills weren't overflowing it was just barely half full. Let leave this thread, people like you give me headaches.

There is a reason why Supercell pushes most of the inactives down the search chain. What is the point if everyone can just mass farm and not even bother to make anything but Barb and Arch? And easily max out their bases? Absolutely no point of the game if farming off dead bases the only thing you do.

You can't justify that you have a TH10 base. Don't bother proving that you have a TH10 base when you can just find one on the top 100. Arguing with an "8 year old kid" is not very mature yourself. And I know you're going to read this and go ballistic. And try to talk sh*t back :)

Last time I found half full maxed out Dark Elixir Drills when I was at Master league. GG.

It's a small problem that you'll just have to get over. If you really want dark elixir you can protect your drills and not rely on them. Also, no DE is being taken from your storage, so it's easy to pretend nothing happened. :rolleyes:

You can also grab the same amount from other people so it all works out. The max amount you can grab from maxed drills is 1200.

I just lost 1.7k from 3 maxed-out drills that were only half full. If it was completely full, I would have lost 3600+.

1200 per drill, 3600 total for 3 full drills. Yeah, it sucks to get raided. Many good suggestions in this thread, like protect your drills better (because of the 75% rule) and manage your shields better.

I know this may take a while to understand, but you can re-farm the DE. It just takes a little work.

Just like it takes a little work to make a better base that doesn't get bent over to lose all of its resources.

It's pretty clear that the OP just wanted to post this thread to rant and not listen to any advice. He/She has disagreed with every single bit of advice given.

There have been plenty of post on this with some suggestions about protecting dark drills better and making better use of shields (I'm not even sure you've put TH in a corner). I would suggest listening to the advice given. It would be wise to actually listen to the advice given. The majority are trying to help you with your issue.

Even though I steal everyone elses, I still feel I should have less taken from me ( if you were to generally lower the amount steal-able from everyone, then I won't be able to steal as much as I do now *trollface* ).


I find it deeply disturbing that other players can simply come to my base, and steal my loot. Honestly, what were you guys thinking when you designed this game. I want a shield whenever I log off, not by a snipe/attack as they could still steal from my drill, just give me a shield so my drills can stay protected as soon as my game ends.

As others have stated, the only solution is:

1) Break Shield before sleeping.
2) Collect all loot from your collectors.
*You will get attacked, and if your town hall can be sniped, it will be. Unless you have too much loot, people are happy with dropping a barb and a hero to get the league bonus*
3) Go to sleep.

DE drills take 16 hours to fill up, a gold/elixer collector takes 50 hours... makes sense u should have to check them much more frequently.

Why? .... :confused::confused: as already mentioned - the percenatge is higher on drills, over pumps, because you have fewer drills, and they are easier to protect, (if you want to).....

Not that logic is very useful with OP, but here's another argument for why the percentage that can be stolen from drills is higher than mines/collectors: the percentage that can be stolen from a de storage is lower than other storages, so this is needed to even things out. If you want people to only be able to take 50% from your drills, then you should also want to give them 10% from your de storage as well, right? (Note: numbers are for th 10, but there's a similar difference for all th levels.)

I'm guessing you don't, since that would certainly allow people to steal more de from you in the long run, OP, but your flawed logic would directly imply that you do. De is very different from gold and elix, and should be treated as such.

Are you kidding me? Regardless of what attack I'm doing, full and accessible level 5 or 6 Drills will make me stop and take the loot. At that point I care about nothing else, so long as I eat up that yummy 3K DE. Are you telling me you wouldn't want to find that? But I don't want it to happen to me...

So if I know I won't be able to play for several hours (sleep, work, school), I break my shield and get a new one. I get sniped, usually people go for my empty collectors, and I wake up or get home with minimal losses.

But I'm not perfect. For that reason, my max level drills that I love oh so very much for producing 200 DE/hr for me, sit in the core of my base, protected. That way, even if they're full, it takes a solid attack to reach them. And if, by chance, my drills are full AND I get leveled and taken for 4K Dark...well, then it was well earned

Because you only have 2 or 3 drills opposed to 6 or 7 mines/collectors.

Protect them better if you are worried about losses.

You seem to be in a minority, so why would they change it just for you? Deal with it...

Think on the bright side, you could have lost 75%. :p
