Why can people loot so much from Dark Elixir Drill than the regular gold and elixir?

Dude this is complete ♥♥. Just lost 1.7 Dark Elixir just from 8 hours of drilling? You can barely get any resource from the gold and elixir collectors from 8 hours of collecting. Complete ♥♥.

Here's the calculation for all the people that think it's just my fault that I don't collect from the drills.

100 x 8 hour = 800 Dark Elixir x 3 Dark Elixir Drill = 2400 Dark Elixir and the guy takes 1.7 Dark Elixir. How is that reasonable. 70% was taken away from the Drills? ♥♥♥. Do some math before you think it's just my fault.

It would be more reasonable if it's around 25 to 40 percent.

Better questions might be, why had it been more than 8 hours since you logged on and collected resources? I dont play all day long, but I will log on regularly and collect resources if Im not under a shield so I dont get my collectors raided.

Depends what level you are really. I used to feel the same as you, certainly as a th8. Now as a th10 if I was to be wiped out, I would be much more bothered about the loss of Gold or elixir. I only offer up around 2-2.5k de to attackers, regardless of how much de I have, this is a very small percentage compared to the 400k gold I could lose out of 3-4 million in my storages.

GCB's top tips:

1) Keep your th outside your base

2) Regularly collect from collectors when you have no shield

3) Always get a fresh shield for going to bed, even if this means breaking a shield with 8 hours left. You are much, much, much more likely to get th sniped with empty collectors than shield ending half way through the night with plump collectors and then potentially getting raided multiple times with sprung cc & traps.

You see, I didn't know that the % were different:


Mines/Collectors: The percentage of Gold/Elixir that can be stolen from mines/collectors is 50% and is capped only by the storage capacity of the mine/collector.

Drills: The percentage of Dark Elixir that can be stolen from drills is 75% and is capped only by the storage capacity of the drill.

75% looks like quite a lot indeed.

It happened only twice in the last 6 months that I was raided before I emptied my drill. With my 3 drills, that is quite a lot of DE I lost those 2 times.

Get a shield before sleeping. Ever think of planning ahead?

Throw townhall outside while you sleep, catch a shield, and sleep soundly my friend...it's the most valuable resource and must be treated as such by all parties

Let's say it's a Town Hall 8 or 9 attacking a Town Hall 10. You can probably take only around 50k or gold and elixir from 8 hours of not collecting, but then they loot an unimaginable amount of Dark Elixir from the drills. ♥♥♥.

I break my shield on purpose and do 1 attack before I go to sleep to minimize losses from the collectors building up and also potential losses from storage raids

Do 1 raid to get about 200k gold/elixir/both with DE if lucky, collect from collectors, and then go sleep

Maybe you should put your town hall outside your base, break any shield you have before bed, and I can say with near certainty you will be attacked within an hour. Then you'll have a twelve hour shield that will still be on once you wAke up. Ever used logic?
