TH9 War Strategy with No Dark troops

Hi guys.

I'm at TH9 (early) and i have some problems in CW. On daily raids i have 0 problems, my lvl 6 giants + AQ and some barb/arch get always the job done.

In CW things are a little bit harder.. my troops are:

giant lvl 6
dragon lvl 3
barb lvl 5
archer lvl 5
wb lvl 5
baloon lvl 5
wizard lvl 5
minion lvl 3
Bk lvl 5
AQ lvl 2
Heal, Light, Rage lvl 4

I can't use golem or witches and i'm searching a strategy different from all dragons attaccks (they are strong but expensive). I'm aiming to 2-star th9 bases or 3 star th8! I've tried some giants-wizard-wb but i've got only 1 star on average th9.

I'm a fellow TH9 and I use Dragoon attacks consistently for 2 stars on TH9 and TH10s. I wouldn't recommend using Giants at all during Clanwars as I found them to be ineffective unless your facing a lot of TH8s using the Giant/Healer strategy. I know these armies are expensive as far as elixir goes but without any dark troops they are probably your best option. I would use mass Drag attacks and 3 star almost every TH8 that I came across. I've seen a couple 2 star attacks using Barch and some high level Heroes but not a viable army consistently. IMO you need a costly army to get 2 or 3 stars to Win in Clanwars. Hope this helps.

I've been using this strategy to consistently 2 star TH9s in CW (with heroes upgrading and not warring too).

Giants (~16)
WBs (4)
Witches (2, can be subbed for Wizards)
Archers (16-20)
Wizards (Rest)
Pekka (1 in CC)

1 Jump, 1 Heal, 2 Rage.

I find that to be pretty effective, with the only caveat being how you must avoid giant bombs within the base, just because the Wizards are the bulk of your DPS.

Dragons+Balloons.

Mmm ok, no doubt behind it: i need to spend a lot of elixir to do better at cw xD
Maybe an army ,like Reigndeerz said, it will be cheaper.

Sometimes with mass dragon (lvl 3) i have some problems taking out TH on th9 bases... i've just done a little 1 star fail on a th9 bases with 2 lvl 4 AD, 2 lvl 5 AD and 2 lvl 3 xbox... dragons were distracted by bk and they didn't take the th! -.- only managed to do 65%...

14-16 giants, 2 pekka, 8-10wiz, 6-8 wb, rest valks

used with 2heal and 2 rage

sending giants to take fire... send wiz to clear outher building... wb to help giants to go throught walls... one heal while cc been lured, wb again, valk other wiz.. rage once cc are onto the giants and valk and wiz come along to rescue them..
