Try and get your pekkas up to lvl3 asap. They'll be the difference makers.
I have been using GiWiPe to practice GoWiPe and it can be pretty solid. Giants definitely do not hold up anywhere near as well as golems and they get thrown by spring traps which in my experience is the biggest raid killer using this technique.
I use 10 Giants, 2 pekka, 10 wb and rest wizards. 1 heal and 2 rage. I have gone up against a couple th9 with 2 lvl 1 x-bows and have managed to 2 star both. Neither was a max th9 but probably mid-upgrade levels and walls so not weak bases. Against th8, even maxed, I have found GiWiPe to be a pretty solid 2 star unless the Pekka go wandering.
I used to have huge success with 16 giants, 2 pekkas, 8 wb rest wizards...
sending giants to take the fire, a row of wiz to take out first layer of building... wb to help the giants... (one heal if they comes low on hp) then pekka to go throuhg the middle with giants... other wb, rest of wiz (save 2-3) use rage if cc comes out...
enjoy the show.. you can use another heal after taht to help the core destruction...

It's not very powerful until you get golums to 2 and pekkas to 3. Make sure you do that before going to th9. Don't try to play catch up at th9 with troop upgrades. There is too much to do for troops already at that lvl.
And to you OP, I wouldn't use them until they are maxed at th8. It's a waste of resources when all drags would destroy a base easier.
True but drags are boring, current war is 20 and th8 hogs or drags, th9/10 gowiwipe. A a max th8 is hard for dragons with ad6 and the skeleton traps are a nuisance.Quote:

2 valk lvl 1
9 wb lvl 4
3 pekka lvl 1
1 pekka lvl 4 in ccc rest wiz
unable to lure cc.....:(
Sent giants, a few wiz, 4 wb. Path cleared.
sent valks, pekka, heal rage rest wb, break into core kill th, last rage. Tesla lvl 5 wasted pekka 1
got 47% should have held a wiz in reserve. Would have 2 starred a max th8.
It was fun and i learned alot. Will definitely do again but not with 3 lvl 1 pekka.
