So I just got Barb King...

Hi

2 hardcore sessions and I finally got BK. For those who are interested I was at about 1250~ range (as thats what I farm in).

I kept my army as BARCH, and pretty much trophy hunted my way to 1800. As I got higher level opponents came across a few bases with exposed TH's (few barbs) to guarantee win and a variation of exposed/semi exposed drills, just use common sense...

I have now dropped back to my farm range.

ANYWAYS

A lot of people makes a big fuss about BK, but I'm not entirely sure I know how to utilise him properly, considering the who sleep/recharge time thing. From what I can gather Healers work on him but multiple needed to be effective as he has so much HP, but mixed opinions on Heal spells?

-What is his radius?

-For raiding, I'm going to save him for bases which are worth it...but what is the most effective way to utilise him? As a Giant? Send him in first? Or something else?

Bear in mind he's still level 1 at the mo....so next questions is...

What should I concentrate on next for Elixer based upgrades?

- BK? (which means I'll need to upgrade DE Storage first too)
- Make first Dark Barracks?
- Upgrade Dragon to level 2?

Thoughts?

scenario 1: if you still have spare elixir to use in lab other than dragon.. upgrade your de storage.
scenario 2: no other lab upgrade can be use and only dragon is the available at the moment. upgrade dragon.

Took me a while to figure out how to use the BK a well, do not send him out first like a giant! Remember giants target defenses, your BK does not, this means if you send him out first he will just walk around the base destroying all of the non-essential buildings will getting pounded by every defense. If you are using barch and want the king to destroy things inside the base, then you have to use your barbs and archers to clear the outside buildings first!

Also, don't worry about any DE troop upgrades at this point, focus all DE on getting the BK to level 5. You will have plenty of time to upgrade your DE troops later on.

DE will be easier to get at th8 with level 5 barch. Don't worry about the BK.

Your spell is quite low, upgrade them asap.

What he said plus, as others have also said, I'd do your spells, they will help you a lot in raiding for loot (used sparingly, of course), plus you will need them for war and trophy pushing at some point .......

BK is just ok imo. The AQ is where its at.

I send bk last esp if I am going for DE and everything is cleared out in front. BK starts to become more usefull wants he gets iron fist ablility it is like have an extra rage spell esp if you barch.

I will also send BK in after AQ or other BK but dont forget to back him up with archers or barbs.

Barbarian king isn't that good against single targeting defenses. Best way to use him is to busy the mortars & wizard towers on him & try not to make him circle around the base, rather, make him go towards the center & support him with some archers from behind. Using barbs with him isn't that helpful since mortars while attacking him will also take out the barbs.

For wars, you should use him to clean up extra buildings or use him the same way. But since most people use air attacks at TH 7, it's recommended that you use him to take out the extra outside buildings when some of the defenses are down.

If you're staying at Silver 1 & above, you'll still find bases with at least 300+ DE as well as some inactive bases with DE drill which are full. Ever since I got my BK, it's really easy to farm DE. I don't really focus on him since you get a drill at TH 8 & you can upgrade him to get 1080 DE per day along with about 1500+ DE per war. But I still got enough & my barb king is level 3.

There's a Youtuber with a Channel (Clash with Cam), I learnt barching from his videos as well as how to get the barb king. You can watch a few of his videos as well as other videos on YouTube to check out how people use him. A video is a better guide than text. (Actions speak louder than words ;) )

I remember when I first got my BK, thought I was the ruler of the Clash Universe lol. The BK is great for many reasons.

Trpohy Pushing - He's great to get you that last 5-10% if you use him right. I always save him for cleanup work at the end of an attack.

DE Farming - I see plenty of TH8's with their DE storage not in the center of the base. If you see it one layer in I use Barbs and Archers to clear the area around it and then swarm the rest of my troops to get the DE.

Tanking - The BK is a great tank, soaks up plenty of damage from splash (mortar + wizard towers) then use the rest of your troops to swarm the resource storages.

Leveled Up - Once you get his Iron Fist ability at Lvl5 you'll have a whole new appreciation for him. Drop 20 Barbs around him once hes at about 1/2 health and he regenerates some health back while getting a free rage spell in the process.

Remember he will go after the closest target so make a path for him to go and he'll do some damage. Hope this helps.

Your barbs are too low if a mortor is killing them with one shot. You have to unlock iron fist ability below that BK isn't all that great.

Thanks for all the input guys, this is really helpful.

I am currently upgrading Light to 3, after that I will max it out.

Currently sitting at 2100 trophy range. I know this is probably not required but it seems to be working out ok!

I am nexting all bases if they do not have an exposed TH (exceptional bases every so often, like a nice full resource worth losing trophies for).

While doing this most of the time I can nab some DE, and the increased bonus from being in a higher league means the profit isnt too bad either!

I send in a single barb and if there are no traps I just use BK.

The acheivement unlock was nice, thinking of going for the next league too...

BK is already at Lv 2 but this will get boring soon so after next level I'll prob go back to usual range lol.

Shouldnt be long, only 5k to go, just had 2 consecutive 1k DE raids :D

I never said my barbs die with one Mortar shot! It takes at least 3 shots for a mortar to take out barbs. & even without the spell, barb king is useful against THs till Mid 8. I've been using him so I know. If your barb king is high level, then I think you weren't that good with him before. It's not the same for everyone you know.

I agree, you should upgrade your spells. Also, the ability unlocked at level 5 is nice. The BK will be a viable member of your army, when he's u[grading, he will be missed. Also, agree with earlier post about not sending in BK first like a giant.
