True, as a th8 i've never been getting three stars but i know its possible if one plans well and knows how to add in balloon. There is no way for a th7 to defend mass dragons attack regardless of any base layout.

Dragons are not overpowered. However, they are in golden age at Th7 and Th8. Once you reach th9, with decent layout and AD defence. Dragons are not a valid option anymore. Beside, you need to plan well and know how to deploy them when you attack against a th8. They don't work when you just randomly deploy them.

Point is that 7 dragons is not a mass dragon attack. By definition it means that the attack is 100% dragons and even with lvl 1 dragons with one in the clan castle, it is close to impossible to defend at TH7. Yes there are instances where you can get lucky, but make not mistake... it is luck.

A maxed out AD 5 deals 190 DPS, a dragon lvl 1 has 1900 hit points.

2x AD5 = 380 DPS
10 dragons x 1900 hit points = 19,000 hit points

divide the two and you get 50 seconds of total time required for two maxed out TH7 air defenses to just kill the dragons (without clan castle dragon) IF they both struck dragons for the entire length of time. This does not take into account clan castle troops or a hero.... if you take out one AD with lightning that number drops down to 100 seconds total.

1 lightning strike to an Air Defense in TH7 and a mass dragon attack is impossible to defend and if you did defend it, consider yourself lucky and keep upgrading ADs. It is not mathematically impossible, but it is impossible to defend reliably.

Just curious if it is possible to defend a Dragon attack at TH 7? It seems like I just don't have enough anti-air defenses to really defend them. Any suggestions or tips? I assume at TH 8 its much better as you have many more air defenses.

its impossible, sorry. There's no base that can help you defend against drags as a th7. It really depends on the player, where they deploy, and what spells they use. I got 2 starred once (when I was th7) by some guy who tried 3 heals against me and my ad tore him up, but that was only once.
