Waste of shields

I know I'm not the only one that this happens to. Whenever I click the attack button when. I have a shield on, it says are you sure? So, I click yes. But then, I sometimes don't end up finding a base and I have to get off the game before I can attack and even if I didn't end up attacking, I still lose my shield. Can this please change?

Breaking your shield is an important decision. :) It doesn't to be changed.

some people purposely want to deactivate their shield so this is not a good idea :)
