3 Stars in CW Challenge: TH7 versus TH8 w/ Dragons

I'd love to hear from the TH7s that attack TH8s with Dragons

Personally I don't hit the easy or rushed TH8s. I'm going for the hard TH8s. Maybe not maxed bases, but mid or near max. I look for exposed ADs so I can drop Hogs from the CC on one, and lightning the other.

But I hear many other strategies are around. Here's what I've compiled:

Spell Combos:

1. 3 Lightning
2. 3 Rage
3. 2 Rage, 1 heal

CC Combos:

1. Max hogs
2. Max balloons
3. L3/L4 dragon
4. 1 Giant + 15 archers

Key Strategies to success:

• Using Barb King to properly help dragon pathing
• Understanding Dragon AI: Dragons target the nearest building

What do you think about centralized ADs? I've hit 3x centralized L4 ADs, but never tried L5 or L6. I tend to avoid L6 the best I can, but if you guys have any surefire tactics to help against max or near-max TH8s that would be helpful.

Only a poorly setup th8 can be 3 starred by mass drags if you see L6 air d. I have a max 8 and never get three started by a th8 takes a th9 to get that done.

In my experience I don't believe any Th8 is strong enough to repel a well thought out and executed attk from a fellow Th8 with leveled up troops and spells. At Th8 vs. Th8 there is always a way. All I can figure is that you haven't been taken on by a good enough attacker.

TH7 can 3 star TH8 if the TH8 is slightly premature or has a bad base design. It's hard for level 2 drags to 3 star a TH8 with level 6 AD's.

I think he was referring to TH7s hitting TH8s. Its going to be really hard. Even well placed L5 ADs are tough, but with the right execution I think its possible.

Even those isolated core anti-dragon designs I think are hittable. You just really need to think the funneling strategies out ahead of time.

I agree that a lot of people fail and that's because they suck. People in my clan are using craptastic TH8 strategies against TH7s (reverse of what this thread is talking about) and failing. Meanwhile because our TH8s aren't pulling their weight, I'm attacking TH8s myself as a Th7 and getting 3 stars, but its tough because as you start facing maxed TH8s, I'm on the short end of the stick.

Maybe but I haven't been three starred by a th8 in a long long time. Just repelled a th9 hog and mass drag with L10+ heroes. I designed my base with help from entire clan and of the 8-9 th8s I can remember last time top 3-4 were three starred by th8. Th9 can do it though
