What farming troop should be the first upgrade in TH9?

I'm a new th9, sitting on a pile of loot waiting for my lab to finish, and I'd like suggestions on what to upgrade first. I have up until this point been a barcher, so that would make barbarians an obvious choice, but as a th8 my base was always getting wrecked by giants and I'm not sure barching is the best way to take loot with the number of storages to hit now.

If you run across me, good luck to you, my max collectors need something to fill after all :D

Archers. Without a doubt, they're universal.

Maxed loons to farm DE on crystal 1 or masters.
Archers get so little in return for so much elixir, it should not be a priority.
Giants would also be good, if you use them a lot to raid with gobs and wizards and archers.

Thanks for the replies! I gotta say I'm still torn, maybe giving up on barbs because they've gotten no love so far.

I voted Other. Do you war? I vote for War troops. I'm still farming with my Lvl5 BArcher and doing fine. Loons can help with farm and war, so maybe the Balloons. Yea Loons, I should have just put Loons. I'm gonna say Loons that last time. Loons. :D

Next up on my list are Witch then Hogs to 5. If you don't war.. you should start! Use that elixer for your camps then drills. A Level 5 drill makes 1920DE a day x2 = 3840/day. Level 6 is 2400/day each. Food for thought regarding my preference toward DE troop upgrades and getting the most DE possible.

Oh yes, I war. I've always been in a constant war clan. And some of my clannies do put priority on the war troops and I think that's some amazing dedication..... but, the war machine runs on farming, specifically massive amounts of elixir. I think in the long term I help not only myself, but also my clan by first improving my ability to obtain the resources I need for war, and other upgrades, before the war troops themselves. Don't want to put the cart before the horse, ya know?
