I have always wonder if Pekka is a female or male? The call him a robot or a knight and in the welcome screen we get a message that the armor of pekka is so heavy that the spring trap does not work on "HER". Any comments?

Its female. Here is my logic. Most players are male. Most players are confused by her and dont understand her. Most men are confused by women. Therefore, its stands to reason that Pekka is female.
