TH9 War attack strategy

I currently only use DE for hero upgrades. I came to TH9 about 3 weeks ago, and have lvl6 giants and working on lvl3 PEKKAs (all other elixir troops are lvl5). Will I have any chance on getting 2-3 stars on other TH9s? What combo can I use? I have 4 spells, all lvl5 (jump is not upgraded). Any help is appreciated... I just want to stop attacking TH8s (I'm #12 in my troop of 45 in wars).
