Just curious, you have almost maxed out everything? Why aren't you trophy hunting?
If i was going for elix, id drop 8 wbs and take it all lol. But im not, so with the gemmed defences, i wouldnt even bother lol.
Using my pekkas, hog riders and wizards, with 4 rage spells, yes i could do it, but i would never waste 4 spells (which would cancel out the 200k gold) along with pekkas and wizards (which would cancel out the 200k elix) and the hog riders (which would cancel out the dark elix) on that base. Without spells, id say it would be very hard without 9 pekkas and a few wizards.
My current base has all the resources in one very well defended pocket, so its all or nothing for me. When i get space in my dropbox (whatever that is) I'll put it on the forums. For me, i either lose none, or i lose everything! All or nothing!
Luis--
This is all conjecture from a TH8 with all lvl 5 farming troops, but I don't think it's possible. Even before the 4th Wizard Tower, I think raiding mature TH9 bases with tier 1 or 2 troops was difficult. Now, it's probably impossible if you don't use spells and stronger meatshields.
Frankly, with maxed TH9 defenses, I'm not even certain layout really matters very much. Maxed defenses can take out tier 1 troops so quickly that your troops just don't have enough HP to survive long enough to loot resources effectively.
Just pick on TH8s and even abandoned TH7s-- it seems to be what SC is pushing.
It is universally harder to farm them.
This gives others a clear incentive to build up their offensives and stop turtle-ing it up in Farmland.
The best way to attack them if you refuse to upgrade is to focus on one side, and one side only. Make sure you weaken them with lightning or use rage effectively. Go all out on one side and hopefully your troop AI is smart enough to take care of the rest.
You can't really surgical strike a well defended base, especially now that they are easier to defend.
Funny--I have tried this but must be doing something wrong. I also feel like I am doing the one thing I try to avoid--spam.
Here is what I do:
- Test defense for traps/CC etc using one or two barbs.
- Archer snipe anything out of range of defense
- Spread barb attack, followed directly behind with spread archer attack.
- Almost instantly, send in giants to soak x-bow fire.
- Send in wbs, followed by very quickly by what resorts to a giant/barb/archer/gob spam-fest.
- Blink, notice all troops dead.
- Hit surrender, knowing I provided the defender with a humorous replay :)
Sigh...
That is essentially what I do. I have experienced step 6 and 7 on some occasions as well haha. Timing is the key, especially when using an underpar army. I agree with what hb said about picking 1 side. I'll try to record a demonstration attack in 2000's using Tier 1 & 2 troops.
Definitely not possible without spells. You have to be generous with rage etc if you're using cheap troops.
