I've raided 2.5m gold and 1.5m elixir in the past 5 hours playing occasionally at my office. Everything in this game is, in my opinion achievable. So either stop complaining and start farming or move your collectors and storages to the side. That is all.

Not that long. I did it, and it took about 3 months to go from the start to level three dragons without spending money.


Anyway, why are you playing the game? If its to be at the top of the leaderboards you are wasting your time. I just find individual battle fun to play. Just like pretty much every other game, you won't be the best (yeah, live with it), so only spend your time playing it is you enjoy it, not if you view the time as an investment to be the best.

Simple! Ignore every motivation that SC passes in front of you like honey flavoured ice cream to buy gems, and work at gaining loot.

(hint, this method is actually more fun)

from the OP's responses in this thread you seem to have a lack of time and you also have impatience, 2 things that work against you and most likely will work in favour of Supercells' pockets.

Basically, what everyone is telling you is that this game is all about the journey because my friend, there is no ending. There is no finish line with flowers and fame, just the fun of seeing how far you can get with your planning and strategies. For me, the fun is seeing my village getting leveled up and trying out new and/or stronger troops against other people's villages and their strategies against attack. At this moment my village is TH7 and will not move up to TH8 until everything is maxed including walls. I don't plan on spending any money on this game (SC hates people like me :)) so I know the journey will be long. And in my eyes, that's the whole point of playing this game.

Then don't go swimming.
