Please supercell I think donating resources is a very fantastic idea because if you need resources for an upgrade e.g cannon you can just requst and its like troop but you type in how much you want to donate but its like troops you can hold certain amount of gold depending on your clan castle level.This would make clans stronger as the players get better.
