Your mortars should always be form a triangle or square. Also, you should have as many separate compartments as possible to slow down the troops.
I have tested that attacks with barcher alone cannot take out any resources at all. So I am pretty satisfied with the mortars placement.
I did separate things into compartments. As to slow down attacks, my base is designed to confuse the giants and make them walk around more at the outer compartment, by opening up some outer walls and placing traps there to shoot them up the sky.
My attackers are those who:
1. Use few troops to take out my TH and give me shield without taking resources.
2. Use barchers to take out outer mines, but the wizard tower guards the passage at the bottom and 4 mortars guard the top and the bottom inner walls, so usually they die fast. They may give me shield after the outter buildings are wiped.
3. Use giant-healing to attack from the bottom, with wall breakers. My goal is to try to attract these to attack me and take out may be at most 1/3 of my storages, while giving me shield.
4. Use dragons and other crazy units to attack me. I want to avoid them by letting attackers of type 1, 2, and 3 to attack me first.
I try to lure the giants to attack my air defense and send in the angel so the skeleton trap is triggered to kill the angels. Then his giants will walk around the outer compartments and step on the traps. The remaining giants should be killed soon since there are a few archer towers and cannons there.
Is there any reason, why you don't use just seeking air mines down there? Skeletons could attack ground troops instead. Is it the re-arm cost?
