To Those Still Complaining on Loot
In recent days I've been periodically sifting through the loot thread and finding that people are STILL WHINING about loot issues...
Well I've sifted through the abuse thrown at supercell and I've decided to make a thread to hopefully inform at least some of these critics that the loot issue is what you make of it and how you play.
I've been playing this game since March of 2013 and in that time I have never seen loot be as bad as a month or two ago. It was terrible. I was searching through bases like crazy jumping everywhere from gold 3 to crystal 1 trying to find something to farm (I was a new th10). And I too would ♥♥♥♥ and moan to everyone who would listen. Then I had the "brilliant" idea of actually moving up in cups to a range set up and ran by higher level farmers. I moved up to m3 and I haven't had much of an issue since. There were a couple of slow days, sure, but for the most part there isn't a problem.
Now that I've got my personal story out of the way and you all see the side I come from. It is time to realize that SuperCell has (in the past) set up the loot and trophy system just right to complement people of different strengths in the game. BUT, the problem arose as the entire economy depended on inactive bases. This could be a real show stopper at higher town halls when you can't find someone with an inactive base at your level. Now as the game's popularity fluctuates it is obvious that the amount of inactive bases will too.
An old clan family member of mine addressed this well in the loot thread:
"The arguments and opinions and the obvious loot problems at different TH levels are all over the place. Personally I think that loot depends on the activity of the people playing the game. The game has become more addictive and popular, and so more people playing means less in-actives to take from, and less loot available from storages in general due to the fear of keeping it. Once people loose the hype, and the interest in the game, they will leave. Eventually there will be more loot, just the time needs to wait. The "Clash Apocalypse" will arise one day and loot will only get better from, there. Until then, either hold on and play as much as you need to progress, or stop playing and be part of the solution to better loot.
On a more positive note, The loot in early TH9 has remained good for me. Farming in late gold, taking collectors, and the odd storages." (Lucas, White Temple)
As an early th9 in upper gold league, he seems to be having no issues (keep that in mind).
As of recently, the loot has been especially bad according to most mid level players I talk to. I myself have noticed a lack of inactive bases up in master league and high crystal. This is where SuperCell's cup system and balance that I mentioned above comes into play. There are leagues for a reason. Yes, cup pushing to champs and other leagues for the lower guys to show how good you are is one purpose. But another bigger purpose that has been overlooked until the recent update is the league bonus! As upgrades get more and more expensive, SuperCell knows that they must provide the resources to be able to complete them. SO, as the amount of resources avaiable declines as you move forward in the game, they implemented the loot bonus.
As a th10 farming in master, most of my raids earn my 80k gold and elixir, and 800 de. That seems really low, but adding on the loot bonus it becomes 180k, and 1300 de. That's a respectable barch raid if you ask me. It isn't the show stopping 350k but over and over again it will provide you enough resources to upgrade your base.
The other town halls:
I have a mini th7 account that is currently at 850 cups. Every time I go to raid without fail I find a juicy collector base to raid. The loot is wonderful and I'm still pretty low in trophies. I found even better loot for all the town halls below that. As for th8, the second best farming town hall behind 7, the loot is perfect as well. If you have any doubt for that as a th8, please do inform me as to what your trophy count and strategies are... You don't see many th8's saying the loot is bad and if you do they are usually in the wrong cup range.
That leaves th9 and 10. As I've already covered th10 issues above I'll leave that alone. Leaving th9 as the sole problem town hall. During August I did 150 lava walls in a month. Absolutely insane long farming days (it was not fun). And that was during the period of "the worst loot in clash history". I farmed at 1800-2000 cups. The same range as Lucas above. The fact that he is essentially doing the same thing I was a couple months ago right now tells me that level of play hasn't changed. If I am incorrect, please inform me of this.
Well, there you have it, I won't do any responding to the wave of hate on the loot thread directed at supercell as in the end it isn't worth the time. I honestly don't blame them for forcing all the negative comments onto one thread :(
If you are having any issues farming, please, leave a comment. Lets talk this out instead of just saying that we'll quit because the game and loot sucks. Farming in this game depends solely on your trophy count and town hall level. This is how Supercell have set it up, and this is how it should be done if you want to have the best results.
