I have all 5 builders and fully maxed TH9 other than lava walls I have about 200 to go. Never purchased a gem. Getting the builders wasn't too hard.

Here is a 2 step guide:
1. Don't spend any gems (Except on builders)
2. Destroy a lot of obstacles
I got all 5 builders before the update that increased the amount of gems from obstacles
Mine have been working none stop through th9... One open for 2-4 Lev 10 walls a day. Just saying.Quote:

First post is out, I know that quite a few of you have got all 5 builders by reaching masters or champs, however read the intro, then you will see why this may be more difficult then you first anticipated. More posts coming soon! :D

I got my 5th builder about 4 months into the game without paying for gems. I did push to masters as a maxed TH7 (don't know why you would avoid doing that if you really wanted a 5th builder). Doing that, plus getting 150 stars in clan wars, plus donating 25,000 troops is about all it takes (and of course not spending gems on anything but builders). I admit I did have the foresight to donate 24,500 level 1 barbarians before joining a real clan (I just clan hopped for the first month I played and donated to everyone I saw).
