weakness of tic tac toe bases?

I had one of those this weekend in clan war.
Mid to late TH8 and I mass dragged for 2 stars

Gowiwi is best strat for that type of base as golems can circle along the edge.

if the ADs are well inside the base, holowiwi, if the ADs are outside, gowiwipe them.

It's incredible that such an ugly base design requires such an expensive army composition to attack. Sadness....
